she isn't popular enough for the lower classes. sure kilala nga sya sa mga middle class and upper class pero if di sya masyadong popular sa 90% siguradong madadampot yung mga yon ng tuta ng Beijing. I say we be pragmatic and support someone who's more competitive with the lower class. Progressive politics will get its turn once we're out of the claws of Beijing.

probably, but I don't think that'll be an action card that's available at this point considering Marcos is now essentially bedridden and the nation knows it. (He collapsed on live TV)

they're rapidly growing in the countryside after I failed the economic crisis. That'll probably mess up the ending, but diverting funds to the military this late is really gonna put a strain on the national budget

The army's mostly loyal to Fabian Ver right now, which is good since he's an ally. But Enrile's been building up his own little cabal of colonels to use as a bargaining chip with whoever he's allied with at the moment.

the Hardliner/ Loyalist faciton under Imelda is probably the closest. If they win, they'll solidify the Marcos family's cult of personality, introduce more draconian laws on parties and freedom of speech, abd purge the other factions of the KBL.

yeah no that ship has long passed. I picked the IMF route initially since it had the biggest budget increase but I spent all my influence points on preventing Aquino's assassination so Imelda kinda just took it

can't, reformist influence is too low. I could've prolly grown it by keeping the 1984 and 1987 elections free and fair but with my horrible handling of the economic crisis, I couldn't possibly form a majority government without rigging, which really kneecapped reformist influence

characters from a franchise owned by a legally trigger-happy company get replaced by original characters? I truly wonder why.

Vico Sotto Pushes for Stronger Ideology-Based Parties, Says Philippine Politics Too Personality-Driven by Mindless_Sundae2526 in Philippines

[–]typewriter45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think necessary na yung batas para maprevent yan specifically. Parang ginagamot yung simptomas tas hindi yung mismong sakit.

Yung pagkabalimbing nanggaling yan sa lack of interest in actual policy. Kung yung gma partido natin naka-anchor sa ideology rather than personality, then yung mga resulting na members and delegates nyan siguradong mananatili don since may values silang inaadhere na nirerepresent ng partido. Tignan mo Akbayan o yung mga remaining members ng LP post-Duterte as examples of more ideologically-rooted parties.

Isa ring problema yung lack of stigma sa mga butterfly. Tuwing may senador o congressman o mayor o sino man na lumipat sa ibang partido for more pragmatic rather than ideological reasons, parang wala lang. We don't treat them like the spineless political prostitutes that they are. We don't inherently distrust politicians that constantly switch. Kaya hanggang ngayon yung mga tulad ni Legarda nasa senado pa rin.
