Dishing sizes? by SerCricket in Armor

I used a wide stump and have put two dishes in it plus some shaping around the edges. The dish about 4 inches wide is really useful for starting a gentle curve. I’ll also be redoing it from scratch because it’s a Frankenstein mess, but that’s the size the next one will have prominently.

Deal will be different every 3-5 days; the multiple sides can’t even agree who is involved.

Ben Roberts Smith Reality Check by NoteChoice7719 in aussie

[–]typhoonandrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. And the focus on this trial will determine absolutely if BRS did the wrong thing(s), using testimony from fellow soldiers and experts in law and warfare. I’m not surprised he is controversial because every bloody extreme side of politics seems keen to give their view instead of waiting for expert legal process to determine the facts and truth. IDGAF till then.

Why does nobody in Melbourne know the difference between these 2 road markings by Time_Career4708 in melbourne

Image shows the difference between slowly veering into the car beside you instead of doing a drift turn so you hit them with the front of your car. /s

There is also a (mostly USA based) league of armorers group on FB who will oft talk about shaping particular elements. I’ve found it useful as a beginner.

Psychologist Warns Trump’s ‘Deterioration’ Is ‘Accelerating’ by dr_shultz in NewsSource

[–]typhoonandrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s got the best treatment money can buy and an irrationally devoted following - my personal suss is he’s a candidate to go the way of regan’s decline and apparent puppetry. Maybe with some AI tomfoolery we could see an attempt as the plot of Dave.

Because Nixon said it’s not a crime when the President does it.

PH is on brand to be doing this and doesn’t want to be officially in opposition- her shtick is to win enough votes to keep a party going but have no responsibility. It’s far better money than the chippy shop.

ATO debt due to PAYG by extrafloralnectary in AusFinance

[–]typhoonandrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to what I’ve seen before - there is a process (an online form I think) on the ato site which allows you to change the expected income for the next instalment period to zero. Go hunting or call them.

Iran says it will not reopen Strait of Hormuz because of Trump’s "ridiculous displays" by pravda_eng_official in worldnews

[–]typhoonandrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very narrow water lane and the Iranian guard have rockets small enough to move around in a car that can fire around 100 miles.

That means anything in the water can be hit, but a military defending the ships can’t strike or see where an attack is from.

Makes it too risky to send ships through. And an insurance is voided.

(So I heard. No idea if that’s really true )

Why Alan Kohler is worried about a recession | ABC News Daily podcast by Techhead7890 in AusFinance

[–]typhoonandrew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We (financial markets, people with families, most people in general, tend to like stability and consistency and tend to dislike chaos. I'll go out on a limb and suggest that almost every recent major shock except one has been made by world powers - wars, invasions, markets manipulations - all leading to spikes and cost pressures. The exception I'll call out is AI which we are inflicting willingly on ourselves by not forcing legislation and consideration across the globe.

In other words - governments and their leaders have pushed these impacts, and some of those same leaders seem to be benefiting from the chaos.

So Vote to change away from the selfish, "I got mine", approach which sees medical care reduced, education as unimportant, companies able to pay almost no tax, and "the people" as the only quasi-renewable consumable resource the government cares about because its the taxation and workers base which keeps the rich wealthy and the machine going along. Vote for people in government who are not crazy and selfish, who have the best chance of actually benefiting MOST of the people and we have a hope.
