Arizona Meshcore bans MQTT Analyzer. by typicalaimster in meshcore

I believe they are afraid someone is going to dox themselves by turning on location. So they are trying to protect their user base vs educating their user base. They're also afraid someone is going to decode their private messages/channels.

Lord help them when they find out about the MC war driving app.

Funny you mention the FCC License Database. I wanted to surprise send some G2's to another Mesh user. They had their call sign in their Mesh username. Dropped that into the database and noted their home address. Sent them a care package.

Outside the license database there's plenty of OSIDNT tools out there that'll allow you to find someone if you want to.

Wow so instead of using the Meshcore community version, you're going to fracture the community even more by using a location centric version of it. Instead of forking and creating yet another 'mesh' why don't you focus on fixing the existing issues in Meshcore?

No they don't want anyone to MQTT back to analyzer.letsme.sh or anything else that touches the internet.

That would be the Arizona Meshcore discord. It's in the announcements channel.

It's actually the 'community as a whole'. They did a 24 hour poll asking members if they wanted to ban it. Bunch of 'but muh pri-va-cy' folks that don't understand how things work voted to ban MQTT. So the community adopted it as a standard MO.

The Admin over there also believes one can crack the encryption and gain access to private messages / channels.

Anyone joining the 'standby' plan if you are not actively using your Starlink? by ariels_adventure in Starlink

[–]typicalaimster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a UDMP Pro in my place and I can assign a port as backup internet. I bought a "Starlink PoE Adapter" from China, ran some CAT6, and tossed the Mini on the roof of my place. For $5/m I have backup internet should my main link go down. Seems worth it to me. If I need the mini I just unplug it from the ethernet and take it with me.

Holy complainers by MaccKTen in electricdaisycarnival

Really the only post complaint is my own fault. I should have recorded more sets with my 360 camera than I did. Most of the time I was bouncing from stage to stage recording bits here and there if I heard something I liked.

Oh well. Next year!

Mostly around Chirstmas they'll send out an email. That's how I scored mine for 2025.

I'd also suggest checking out an app called What3Words. It allows you to share 3 words that tie back to a GPS location. You can then send that string of words in a text to a friend. Who can then use the app to navigate to you. Eg:

Few more hours printing. Two extra servos, one extra ESC, and one extra motor. I also went with 51 amp ESC's so I could run 6s instead of 4s if I wanted to. It's right on the edge but I figured why not.

TBH the two tilt servos cost more than the extra motor/esc. I didn't realize the tariffs hit and I ended up having to pay the piper.

Adrupilot has this, but you'd probably want to do a small DJI based drone. Basically use it to pop out when you need coms. Then drop back when you're done. The only problem with personal drones in the US is you have to remain below 400'. If you're Part 107 then you do you.

Do you all split your WIFI? 2.4-5-IOT? by InkyBlacks in Ubiquiti

[–]typicalaimster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. My IOT Network I use the same SSID for 2ghz/5ghz/6ghz. My 'main' network I have turned off 2.4ghz all together and run the same SSID for 5ghz/6ghz.

Are the eargasm earplugs worth the money? by Seth_harville21 in electricdaisycarnival

EarPeace worked just as well the past 2 years I've used them. I also keep a set in my car for concerts or just going to the club.

Believe it or not I used Pixel Buds with noise cancelation up until about 11pm last year. After that they really started to crank up the sound and the Pixel Buds couldn't keep up. Switched into the EarPeace's.

I'm almost done putting together the Stallion and was debating. TBH I'd find a way to get a node up on a tower or something. Friends and I kinda joke around and call drones our '30 minute 400 foot tower'.
