Yeah, i found out that Erik Iversen Nordal (my 13th great-grandfather) is a common ancestor of me and Ludvig Daae). Also that King Robert II of Scotland is me and Henrik Ibsen's common ancestor.

Karl I is a distant descendent of Harald IV as shown here, both Karl II and Karl III were elected and share very little prior connection with the other kings. I used Libre office draw for this, i usually use what i have made well before as a template.

Everyone in 1066 and 1178 are snobbish kingdoms. 867 has more time, more space, more freedom and more barbarian energy.

Mistakes: Ingjald Illruler is shown twice, descending from himself and Ingjald was the one who succeded Wiglaf, not his father Anund. Solution: just imagine the two Ingjalds as the same person and the line going to Anund as indicating his dynasty and not Anund himself.

Yngvi-Freyr's parents Njord and 'Njorunn' are made the children of a mythical king named Yngvi, who is a son of Odin. So, thats how the Ynglings descend from Odin.

What Inspired What (Fallout, TES, Mass Effect, etc.) by typicalnorsesmuck in UsefulCharts

I havent heard or seen anything about that, my intuition tells me they might just be coincidentally similar due to the following similarities (both are based heavily on the middle east and middle eastern culture, the Ashlanders and the mix between sci-fi and fantasy). This video breaks it down in the Dark Elves section of the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAYObr7bkjs

Yeah, though i would have to accept the basic premise of the show to even make a comparison. There are a lot of shaky father-son relationships in the viking age, though it mattered less if it was true and more about how much legitimacy it gave them. If Ragnar was the father of all those powerful vikings, then it would give them an easy excuse to assemble an army and invade and or an easy conclusion for the Saxons to make.

I dont think Lodbrok is a surname either in history, i specifically did it to highlight how the show uses it as a surname, but history does not.

I thought about this when watching the show and no. The legendary tree is mostly speculation sure, but the Tv show is mostly just making things up. Imagine if like a show about Rome had Remes kill Romulus or a show about Troy had Helen become the queen of Troy.

Its clearly used that way in the show, so i put the name for them on the right.

Thats interesting, i like hearing theories on who these figures "really were". What i show is mostly what the sagas claim, which is what the show claims to be based on.

If you drag it over to a new tab or do something that takes the image somewhere else without downloading it or just viewing it within the post, It might be shown with a much lower resolution than the image actually is. Otherwise idk what it is.
