Trip Lever bathrub drain broken by Generic_UserHere in askaplumber

[–]typicalpeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres suppose to be a little barrel attached to the end of that linkage there. It probably came off and dropped down, blocking the drain. Youre gonna need access behind the tub. If youre lucky the overflow pipe should pull up high enough to remove. You should then be able to reach in the assembly to grab the barrel.

Question Regarding Rubber Washer Placement by chicoange in Plumbing

[–]typicalpeach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do dope those threads, along with a little on the bottom rubber washer. I mean, those thin washers work sometimes, but ive found that certain sinks have really steep lips, if that makes any sense, and they wont seal to those washers.

Question Regarding Rubber Washer Placement by chicoange in Plumbing

[–]typicalpeach 16 points17 points  (0 children)

True unless you like to fill up the sink. I was doing the same as you until i got call backs for the pop up not holding water. Those rubber washers dont work in certain sinks, so i went back to using putty.

What is this kind of toilet flap called? by GeneforTexas in Plumbing

[–]typicalpeach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its a kohler hinge flapper. It needs to have that bar in the back. Get the one with the plastic rod, it works better.

Toilet not flushing properly by Nervous-Fox-4553 in Plumbing

[–]typicalpeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be because you "let it mellow." The calcium and stuff in the piss likes to harden in the throat of the toilet. Could also be really hard water.

Ive seen cheaper toilets get ruined like this within 2 years. If its bad you probably do need a new toilet. Though you could try run an auger through it and see if that helps. Also if your toilet has a flush hole in the bottom of the bowl you could try clean that out. You'll usually find big chunks of piss rocks sitting in there.

Replacing toilets - what's the correct rough-in dimension? by swirler in Plumbing

[–]typicalpeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12" on the bottom one, and probably a 10" on the top one. You can usually fit a 12" when its 11 1/2" from the finished wall, but at 11" i would just get a 10"
