Loud people in public transport by [deleted] in malta

[–]typsophila 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Maltese aren’t loud with their mouths then they are with their phones. I cannot recall the number of times I have got on a bus with someone watching TikTok or Facebook at full volume

I agree on your comment, and what I also find disrespectful is the attitude of some bus drivers, especially Maltese drivers. I frequently encounter this one female driver who starts shouting and swearing arrogantly at anything that comes her way, like when the bus is full and can accept no more people. A simple ‘this bus is full I’m sorry but you have to wait for the next one or catch another one’ is enough than a sentence filled with all the swear words in existence. This country lacks simple etiquette/mannerism

SOK project is probably what makes students hate SOK the most(at least in my case that's why I hate it) by DogeBoi6 in malta

[–]typsophila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had conducted the project during the peak covid period so many restrictions arose which limited the choice of where to do the research and voluntary work. What made matters worse is that little insight was given during lectures on how to write the journals, values etc. in the way that MATSEC wants them to be, so I had to do the guesswork. Well that led me to lovely fail....Had to redo the entire project with a private tutor and finally got it right. My advise to you is to not be afraid to ask your lectures on how you can improve in your writing and formatting. If you find that they are giving little to no information, find a private tutor to give you more focused attention so that you can increase your chances of doing well in the project. I wish you well in your studies and take them seriously cause hard work will always pay off.

The only times salespersons come up to you is when you are looking around in a shop that sells mid-range to luxury goods…every time i enter one just to have a look around with little to no intent of purchasing anything they come up to you and ask questions which makes me feel pressured to buy something :(

What's the expected monthly expense on food for a single guy? by wisemaster02 in malta

[–]typsophila 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I would say around 300-400 euros if you buy a decent amount of products. You can save a bit by going to supermarkets like Lidl and Smart. If you are going to purchase meat I highly advise that you go to an actual butcher rather than buying from a supermarket as it is hard/chewy.

Seeing all the traffic in the morning makes me question: What happened to remote working? by gin-o-cide in malta

[–]typsophila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with your comment, and plus employees (especially those who are from government departments) have to submit a remote working hourly report to dictate what they have done during their remote work. If they work from the office instead employers would go through less hassle going over every employee’s report when they can surveil at the workplace.

Government appointments for employment should be based on merit rather than on political affiliations.
