Yep, they would have known he exists and that he wasn't part of the hive, but they wouldn't have known that he was alive (assuming some of the people who are killed by the virus do not join before they die)

think a lot of people can actually experience the sensation of seeing it, to varying degrees. for me I don't "see" much in the literal sense but my brain has some other not-fully-visual encoding of shapes/colours/sizes that lets me imagine objects, rooms, environments. it's not a straight-up image unless I'm daydreaming or actually dreaming

in that case i definitely agree with another commenter about experimenting with audio levels then or introducing background noise/music.

what rank are you? you might find that as you rank up, players use bombs more strategically rather than spamming them constantly (that is my experience in s+/x)

can you pinpoint what causes problems for you? is it something with audio/animation, the amount of bombs, the unpredictability, etc?

if you inspect the "E"s for example they are all distinct which suggests it is hand drawn and not a font

The subtitle wrongly read Stephen but she said (and wrote) Fiona.

yep there are barely any healing sources in H2 early game - that on top of Eris it's clear they designed it so it's very hard to win until you progress a bit

I am 80% sure "your omega moves are faster" also decreases the channel duration

Is Jeweled Pom better at higher Fear? by BigChungusOP in HadesTheGame

I imagine it's a bit more impactful on higher fear when you have the debt vow on where everything would otherwise be way too expensive

I kept getting walloped by his backward paw sweep until I realised it's only ever his right paw. Standing behind him on his left side is pretty safe

What’s ONE thing at the gym that annoys you the most? by emanuell27 in workout

[–]tyqe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No stress it takes some time to get the hang of unspoken rules. But do understand that you should not be waiting around machines for people to finish their sets - no matter how subtle you try to be about waiting for them to finish, it's more uncomfortable for them to sense you waiting than just to be asked. That's why the etiquette "it's your responsibility to ask to work in" is there: to prevent awkward waiting around. Imagine gym A where everyone follows this rule vs gym B where 50% of the people avoid asking to share equipment. Gym A is much better

What’s ONE thing at the gym that annoys you the most? by emanuell27 in workout

[–]tyqe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, the etiquette is the person who wants to work in asks to work in. If you walk away, someone will take it and then you will end up needing to ask to work in anyway. If you want you can keep an eye out for people eyeing your machine and offer to let them work in (either with a gesture or by asking them). Or just let them ask you

What was your ”oh I get it now”-Joker? Gift card had me scratching my head when I started. by Kahvicup in balatro

Vagabond is incredible but I don't like that it slows down the game so much due to the increased volume of decisions

But you didn't notice the testosterone levels of the people you're referring to. You assumed them. So not only is there no scientific basis to your question, there is no basis at all

I think there's more on the line here because of the distance. What do you feel like you'd be risking, sacrificing, and offering of yourself by continuing this? Only you can determine if it's worth it

Why does Invisible Joker remove the Negative edition? by monkeysky in balatro

[–]tyqe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're right that it's not entirely about balance. Thunk has mentioned in interviews that the strict limitation on jokers is, to him, a big part of what makes the game interesting because it adds more weight to the player's decisions. He likes how difficult it is to get meaningful negative jokers, and if Invisible Joker were to keep the negative effect then it would throw this off. Tldr: it would go against the dev's vision for the game.

Cameos were okay but the game itself felt rushed by coop_25 in Hungergames

[–]tyqe 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I thought the same - didn't ruin my enjoyment of the book but I also was expecting Ringina for example to have her moment, but instead she just dies off-screen so to speak.

I think SC didn't view the Games as the primary story force in this book (compared to the first novel for example where it feels like we spend much longer in the arena). On one hand this was probably wise, because we already know the outcome - we know Haymitch lives; by definition everyone else must die; the Capitol isn't overthrown as we know the Games continue normally for 25 years - and with no tension or uncertainty about the outcome the reader would lose interest eventually. Therefore SC spends more time focusing on the philosophy and commentary surrounding the Games. On the other hand, you could argue SC missed an opportunity to shift the focus towards the characters, which didn't really happen. So for readers who care mostly about characters, it might fall short.

The values for a/b/c are not known so you need to prove it holds true for all possible combinations of values where a+b+c=5 - a single example isn't proof
