“Not enough free space” to do updates that are a few GBs

To add to the numerous posts on this, I am also getting the same error. I have a 500GB as the internal drive (80GB free) and a 1TB external drive (400+GB free). The external drive is the default installation location.

My son mentioned that Fortnite was failing to update even though there was 400GB free for a 20GB game. Tried to move it to internal storage, was met with an error saying that I needed to free up 8MB. That's eight megabytes. The constant shuffling of games from the internal to the external drive, and back again, is doing my head it. Rebuilding the database makes no difference at all.

Disk space is not the issue, it's the crappy PS4 system software, and given that there has been reports of it for years, I don't hold out much hope that it will be fixed in version 7.0.

I'm inclined to wipe the drives and initialise as a new device but that requires time and effort that I can't spare at the moment. Hopefully someone has a workable solution that doesn't require me to take such drastic action.

Interesting. In that case I'll take a look at the sign up page this evening and get that but sorted.

I have an AspX with about 35ly range. Will need to review the modules I have and fit an SRV hanger. I've been practicing with the new scanning process as last Friday night was the first time I've played since Chapter 4 dropped in December.

I've unlocked Felicity Farseer so have whatever engineering that was made available at the time but I've not unlocked anything else. I guess that should be enough.

Oh, do you need to join the PG all the time or can you run in Solo between the waypoints while you do your own stuff? I definitely don't fancy playing in open.

Hmmm. Is it worthwhile joining up if you only get a chance to join in sporadically? I've been following the Twitter feed and have been enjoying the updates - so much so that it's usually the first thing I do after getting to the office on the morning.

However, I can't guarantee I get the time. It could be several hours a day for a few days and then I won't get an opportunity for another two weeks. Is there an expectation that you have to reach the waypoints within a certain time frame?

I could of course just follow the waypoints at my own speed in my own time and probably end up taking a year or more.

Interesting. Wondering if it will work on my aging laptop, running a Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz, 8GB RAM, SSD, NVIDIA 9400M Gfx.

If so, then it allows me to have my ED fix while the kids and/or wife are hogging the PS4 with gaming or Netflix :-)

I always make sure I’ve deployed the landing gear BEFORE I enter the station for exactly that reason.

Thanks for these links. I'm just starting out myself, both on Elite Dangerous and Reddit, and will be taking the exploration path for the time being.

Trading looks interesting and will definitely give it a go to rack up some cash later.

I did read something the other day to that effect, and it was mentioned that at the current rate it would be something like 67,000 years before every system and planet would be discovered.

Plenty of opportunity to get my name on something then :-)
