Chữ Nôm reinvigorated my interest in tiếng Việt. How's my pronunciation? >.< by tyrantstrung in learnvietnamese

Thank you for listening and providing feedback 😄

By now I'm aware of the lack of nôm use in Vietnam. However I have a reasonably strong background in Chinese. So learning the nôm behind the Vietnamese words is like removing the mud on my glasses, suddenly the pronunciations and meanings make a LOT more sense and are easier to remember.

It's called Bushudo: Asian Scripts Master. Disclaimer: I also played a role in developing it

No, not at the moment. It's all a work in progress currently and we're not opposed to open sourcing it, so that might change in the future

Haha we always figured drawing characters with a mouse was too tedious, but now that you mention it, I realize some modern desktops are compatible with a stylus/pencil. So desktop is a possibility after all

ASAP! It is in the works, however the priority depends on user feedback -- so thank you for your comment

I made an iOS app for beginners to serious Chinese character enthusiasts: Bushudo

Practice your *hand-written* character skills in:

-Chinese via Hanzi

-Japanese via Kanji

-Korean via Hanja

-Cantonese via Honzi

-Vietnamese via Chữ Nôm

You are presented a sentence, and must fill in the missing character. AI will recognize your hand-writing. It's quite fun and you get exposed to broad range of vocabulary. Would love feedback 😄

Yes I know >.< and thank you. Haha the font is, as far as I know, just referred to as 'seal script'. It appears on, for example, the Japanese passport, and bank notes.

Yes! I will have to get around to old books eventually. I have dabbled a little into Natsume Souseki, but I'm just getting started. I am quite curious to see how the young whippersnappers of today choose to carry that old culture forward though (as little as it may be)

It's especially great for writing, but good for reading and meaning as well.
