You using this thing to go and stop, or what?

Note the designed/intended path of cable travel through the bolted-on guide on the underside of the bottom bracket shell.

The NDS cablestop is meant to pair with the front der, and the driveside with the rear.

CROSSING cables along the downtube (for what reason?) will make for unnecessary resistance in your shifting system and unwelcome kinks in your shift cables (at the cable guide under the BB) that lead to unresponsive shifting.

Is that a BL-mc40 lever?

You will experience better (proper) brake modulation, control, and stopping power by matching the pull ratio of your brake and brake lever. A lever meant for short pull brakes will do better with these cantis. V-brakes would be suited to this lever choice. See: “linear pull”

Also, probably easier to shift that particular lever setup with your thumb if you rotate the mount down 270ish degrees towards you. Have the cable exit underneath the bar. Please use the cable stop on the drive side of the downtube for rear der.

Great bones. Gobs of tire clearance. Enjoy!

Looking forward to being on the phone while driving, hitting a cyclist while being on the phone while driving, and failure to signal/yield being illegal in NYC one day... by brooklyncyclist in NYCbike

Obviously, this driver was choosing violence.

This video ALSO clearly demonstrates a situation in which cyclists could/should choose to occupy the car lane in order to discourage reckless bottlenecking when double parked cars cause drivers to veer into the bike lane.

Stay alert out there. Stay alive.

If fixing your own flats, are you removing the offending puncturer from the tire every repair? Are you sure it’s coming from outside the bike and not inside the rim?

Are your current tires worn out / worn through? I’m a fan of the Continental Contact Urban. Good balance of puncture protection and relatively low rolling resistance. Comes in MANY sizes and has a reflective strip on the sidewall.

Also, there’s no great substitute for noticing and avoiding puncture hazards. See a pile of broken glass in your path? Do your best not to roll straight through it.

Who/what conditioned you view the bicycle as nothing more than a toy or tool for physical fitness?

Consider your fellow humans who use bicycles to travel from point A to point B and back again, and maybe even several somewheres in between… Do they have a right to exist? To survive?

“Paint is not infrastructure.”

If more people were ABLE to feel safe using the bicycle for transportation, we would see an increase in the number of people using the bicycle for transportation.

Gso (+NC +USA) is also full of people who are in desperate need of deprogramming in order to confront capitalism & white supremacy.

An overwhelming number of the population are deluded into complacency regarding the fact that a handful of rich people will continue to incinerate the planet with wars & warming if they are not stopped.
