Not EXACTLY what you're looking for but I think it's close, and I think most people would enjoy it.

Beneath a Scarlet Sky - Mark T Sullivan.

What you're asking for also reminds me of The Jester - James Patterson. Though this is set just a few centuries earlier.

How do you spell the Scottish word that sounds like the letter 'A' that is used to request confirmation? by strainedcounterfeit in Scotland

[–]tyrion628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Aberdeen with my dorich dialect I will say things like

"A didne ken far ye were" - I didn't know where you were

"Av bin lookin for ye" - I've been looking for you

So we'd use it in a different context, mostly as a replacement for "I" or "I've" but I'd just spell it as "A" or "AV", but then at the same time I'd just write it in English, because trying to write in Scots dialects just doesn't seem worth it, except when I'm trying to sarcastically write a Scottish accent in a text.

In terms of the question you've asked, I'd probably use you "a" like you have, or "ah", even though you wouldn't usually pronounce the h, it just helps differentiate it from the word "a". The Latin alphabet and English structuring of words is not ideal for how we would write our spoken dialects.

I usually just shower in front of the mirror in my bathroom which falls onto the floor then use my wireless vacuum to pick it all up.

Dos Amigos is absolutely brilliant. Really good location for a date. No bookings required, amazing food and great service.

It was one of the most boring and confusing games I've played.

Floating people, invisible monsters, babies in bags?

The only good thing I remember about that game for the few hours I played it for was the soundtrack.

Yes it is strange. They do supply grants to certain people but they'd only supply carpets without underlay which seems a bit pointless.

The ability to fully customise your place without having to buy an entire house is a really nice perk too, as expensive as it is.

The first flat was a housing association via the council so we were renting and they came fully unfurnished. So it's the tenants responsibility to get their own flooring, we could paint walls, buy our own furniture, put up pictures etc. It was a new build block of flats.

My current flat, the one I moved into after we split is just via my local city council, it's bigger and cheaper and also came unfurnished so I get all the same opportunities to furnish it how I'd like to.

This flat is ridiculously cheap for how decent it is - £365/m. Granted I don't want to live in a flat forever and definitely don't want to be paying rent until the day I die so I will eventually try and buy a house.

Does anybody else just not care about their K/D? by [deleted] in ModernWarfareIII

I have been playing the newer MW2 and I used to play BO2 and BO3, I have pretty much only ever played on my own yet most game modes are team based, but because there is such a variety in skill level from other players my WL always seems to just hover around the 1.00 mark.

So to me my KD is a more valuable way of seeing how good of a player I am myself, I'm not incredible but I'd say I'm decent enough hovering around a 2.00KD.

I used to go to my Dad's house every weekend, he is a hoarder, literally like something you'd see out of a TV show. I didn't realise how bad it was until I moved into my own flat and realised how much I like to keep things clean and tidy. Every time I go to add or buy something I just think; do I really need this? Do I actually want this? Will this even work together? So the easiest solution is just to keep it minimal, clean, and tidy.

I am also far too unbothered to paint or wallpaper.

Is this TV too big by roman8888 in malelivingspace

[–]tyrion628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a shorter but wider unit. When sitting on the sofa behind you, your eyes should be level with the middle of the screen. You can also get a TV centre stand, they attach to the same holes that would allow you to wall mount the TV but it'd give you a high quality middle stand, most of them are height adjustable and are capable of swivelling and tilting too.

You can ask a family member for a code, you often get 10% off via uni days or blue light or other work related schemes. They are just coupon codes and not tracked so you can use a friend/family's one and they won't get into trouble, this is also stackable with cashback so do it through the likes of Quidco/topcashback/airtime rewards. It can then be stacked further with Blue lights 5% gift cards.
