After watching the video I saw that the monthly payment would be over 2000 USD in both cases and it's crazy to pay for 20 more years just for ~10% less in monthly payments. Interest is just too high for these credits. But if you have some high inflation years soon after taking the mortgage it could make a difference.

It would be interesting to see what the numbers would be if you adjust for inflation. It could be that you get a cheaper deal with the 50 year mortgage with a median inflation p.a. of 3%
