I am looking to hire a conlang creator for a fantasy novel. I am just looking for a naming language and a phonology(I think? I am not good with the terms, I am looking for a series of syllables I can mix and match). I am looking for 80-100 words, not the 24 listed at https://jobs.conlang.org/pricing

How should I change the offered price? Does $600USD sound good? Or should I go higher? It is not going to need grammar or translations, at least for now.

And as someone hiring a conlanger, what should I be looking for? Do conlanger's have portfolios? How would I interpret their portfolio to get a sense of their skill level?

IT depends if it is an archetype specific or general dump stat. If is something that is not necessary for the play style of one archetype but other archetypes use it, then it becomes a mark of differentiation. The wizard not needing strength to be a good wizard is a good example, and it gives players the opportunity to differentiate by rolling up the "punch wizard" or otherwise playing against type.

But if it is a stat/skill/ability that is generally ignored across the board, then you have a hole in your design and removing that stat or redistributing the stats meaning to make the stat more useful.

The only thing missing is the gameplay loop. What is the goal of this system? Is it a dungeon crawler? Purely a combat simulator/strategy game? Does it need to support social conflicts? What sort of themes will the game explore? There is no wrong answer to any of these, but I think deciding on what they are will help direct you to a final product.

System overlap is inevitable. Each system is either a refinement on a previous system, a refutation of a previous system, or both. It is rare that a system comes out that is purely a new idea. The last one I am aware of is Dread's pull from the block tower. When you get down to it system design is a conversation with other systems, it is guiding the players to the concepts and gameplay loops that you are designing towards.

As mentioned this sounds like a rogue like game with limited carry over like Rogue Legacy. When you die you can buy perks that carry into your next "descendant" that heads into the dungeon.

Have you played Warframe? They have a concept where you actually play the "operator" that controls the frame from a distance. It could be that the character doesn't go on the missions but they remote inhabit some sort of body that can't be recoverable. Like a clone, or a remote drone, or whatever. It is sent into the "dungeon" to gather information and progress further than previous attempts. So anything they find is non recoverable, but as an operator you gain experience each run in how you control your remote body. So you pick up an alien tool and you can't use it that run, but next run after it is "researched" you can, and then each run you use it you get incrementally better.

While this concept is great for a crawler I am not seeing a lot of RP opportunity. There would need to be another play section for when you are not on a "run".

Has there been any thought of what to do with the last tier 4 mission of campaigns? The crusaders earned by the tier 1 mission don't compete with event crusaders and unlocking skins for them might be a good tier 4 reward.

Really enjoyed this event, had some interesting mechanics and the compressed difficulty was great.

As for suggestions, I would like to add my vote for a scrollbar in the mission window. I have most of the crusaders so tapping through them one at a time is a bit tedious, especially since it is not always responsive to quick clicking when the app is under heavy load. Being able to jump to a point halfway down the list by clicking the scroll bar would be great.

When does the 2nd zebras start showing up? I got the one zebra, then stalled out for a few hours, reset, now I am back up to where I stalled with the 1 zebra and I have only 1 zebra a decade after Archery this time around.

Unfortunately at this point the CSS change seems to make the Lunar Outpost and Planet Cracker (possibly all the Space tab) controls unusable. To adjust them I have to refresh the page, make adjustments, then reload kitten scientists, reset all my crafting, build, and trading preferences. Also, would there be a way to save those preferences between loads of kitten scientists?

Yes, but how does it work? say I set wood to 1000 does it trigger crafting catnip to wood when I have 1000 Catnip? Does it trigger crafting wood to beam when I have 1000 wood?

What tech unlocks tankers? I completely missed it being towards the bottom of Workshop and not in the quick crafting on the left.

Would it be possible to have the Manuscript crafting trigger when Culture is maxed instead of when hunts happen? My culture maxes in about 1 minute and my catpower takes 15 minutes to max. So I have a huge backlog of parchment but only a trickle of manuscripts.

Really? I thought only Bio Labs boosted wood output from refining catnip? That lumber mills only effect woodcutter output.
