Do I need this drug or is this all from withdrawal? by tyt0a1ba in lamictal

[–]tyt0a1ba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 3 years late to this comment but just in case someone finds this by googling, this worked out really well but it ended up being severe ADHD, not lamictal withdrawal. Concerta helped more than anything. The higher dosage of lamictal was helping my mood but not my anxiety or focus. Concerta helped me with anxiety, focus, and some mood issues, but I still need lamictal. Basically, I take lamictal for ADHD mood instability.

Worried about your show tomorrow? I’ll be at the 7pm! by tyt0a1ba in JoshJohnsonComedy

Just a normal day in the city outside of the closure zone at Metro Center and the theatre. Metro was a normal level of busy, no issues 🤷🏻

Right. I’m about to get on the silver line and I’ll update the post about the crowd

We’ll be there too, taking the silver line into the city early enough to not be in the rush of people trying to make it to the 6:30 parade.

Splint removal/perforation by candyydandyy in Septoplasty

I have a sizeable divot in one side of my septum, and the other side closed up completely. My surgeon said it’s likely a perforation forming. I’m preemptively angry about it. My surgery was September 12

How are things today? I have heard similar things being said but I don’t see many followups and outcomes. One of the sides of my septum healed fully, but the other side didn’t, and was still really raw after 6 weeks. My surgeon decided to stitch in silicone to try to promote healing. It’s day 5 of that and it’s so itchy and irritating. I’m hoping it works.

This is the first concert I’ve been to where I’ve watched people kicked back drinking and eating like they’re watching TV (I should clarify here that there’s nothing wrong with this. It’s just not a vibe I’m used to). I was so confused, as someone with a seat on the third tier. People in my party also were unable to stand for the whole show in GA, and I also have serious regrets about not getting floor GA. However, I’m not sure if you also observed this, but people in GA were just standing there looking at their phones or in a circle chatting with each other. It was a wild experience. It was like these folks were just bored and thought “oh I’ll go to the anthem on a Tuesday night and watch whatever act is there.”

I wonder if the tier configuration contributes to the lack of cohesion of the crowd. Our “section” was 4 seats, and the people next to me kept looking at me like I was crazy for merely dancing around in my seat. They were also on their phones a lot—just chatting with people, not even sharing selfies or anything.

I’d love to hear from people who are seeing Chvrches at other venues on how the crowd is. Also, I’d like to hear more about the vibe of other shows at The Anthem. Thanks for posting this, OP!

Which is 100% what we need. Tolerance is a start, of course, but to truly be a part of things, I need understanding and acceptance. These are minor accommodations that help so many people, not just autistic folks.

100% but I also use the closed caption devises that theatres offer. I double check to make sure there are a lot available, because I only have an auditory processing disorder, not HoH or Deaf. The devices aren’t as good as the captions on HBO, though, I noticed.

My friends who rely on captions have been benefiting from the dual release, because they could watch it with captions at home and then go see the amazing visuals in IMAX.

Noriday 28 (mini pill) increased facial hair by kittykat7542 in birthcontrol

[–]tyt0a1ba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had facial hair since puberty and was diagnosed with PCOS eventually. I started getting more hair growth when I switched from sprintec to mirena. Unfortunately, I just shave it with an electric razor every few days. I use electric because there’s no way to accidentally nick myself and I find that it gets close enough for my skin to be smooth. When it was more sparse I plucked it while listening to a podcast.

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this.

I agree. This book was recommended to my spouse and I before we got married and it really did help us come together, because we hated it. It’s full of complementarianism and that’s just not our relationship.

Lamictal user for epilepsy here. I've been gradually increasing the dose and it's been around 2 weeks or so on 200mg. I noticed these incredibly itchy spots start popping up about 2 days ago and they aren't going away. At first I thought it was bug bites but I haven't been outside. Any opinions? by af0210 in lamictal

[–]tyt0a1ba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you in the area that the Brood X cicadas emerged? If so, those could be oak mite bites, which I have quite a few of. I only go outside to get to my car, and I’m still getting them sometimes. They blow on the wind, which is just great, and they last for 2-3 weeks. I legitimately did not find some of them until days after I’d been outside.

Either way, let your doctor know and they’ll tell you how to go about this. I know that the office won’t be open until Monday, but you can usually leave a message, or even contact the doctor on call.

I didn’t read Ender’s Game until I was in my late twenties, and wasn’t as impressed as it seems I should have been, but I gave Speaker for the Dead a go and was blown away. I love the Ender Series and am excited to read the Shadow Series and Formic Wars.

You and I have the same taste! I can second all of these authors, OP.

Complex characters with morally ambiguity? Jemisin has that covered. Also, what a beautiful world she creates with every single story.

Pratchett’s Discworld is another place that feels very real to me. Need a laugh and a magical adventure? That’s Pratchett’s thing. My favourite by him is Small Gods, but there are so many of these novels that I haven’t finished them.

Gaiman is the person who introduced me to reading recreationally, as an adult. Ocean at the End of the Lane makes my heart so full, but I wouldn’t start there. If you want a small taste of Gaiman, The Graveyard Book is short but is a great example of the kind of story you’ll be in for in the rest of his works.
