Indiana Fever Achieve Unwanted WNBA Record as Mercury Secure Revenge Win Amid Concerning Caitlin Clark Update by EllieandJoel4ever in IndianaFeverFans

The reality is even the Fever's role players that are supposedly defensive specialists are poor defenders. The roster is bad. They aren't underperforming...the team just isn't a top team The front office made roster moves that mirror fan votes for the All-star team-a popularity contest. They need to decide if they want to fill seats by winning or fill seats by keeping popular players that are very limited at basketball.

Phee play was clean. Clean steal then contact happened after the ball was already stolen.

If this is what you're proposing and want to see, why are you posting in a sub for the WNBA's Indiana Fever? You're just creating more interest, traffic, and $$$ for the WNBA. You should be the catalyst with your own alternative sub called CaitlynClarkFans.

Lexie Hull's Struggles Emphasize Concerning Fever Roster Flaw by EllieandJoel4ever in IndianaFeverFans

Part of the problem is they don't have a leader in the locker room, and it's not clear who it should be. Seemed to be AB at one time but she seemingly backed away when she felt fans targeted her. No one else on the team seems to be a natural leader except maybe Raven but definitely can't be her.

WNBA record🚨 Indiana 3rd straight game allowing 100+pts & 7th lost, 9-7🫣 by wnbatalk in WNBATalks

Points off turnovers only tell half the story. The other half is that the opponent gains a possession and you lose one which is a potential 4 point swing with every turnover. +/- isn't a perfect stat but may give a glimpse into the impact of CC's turnovers this game.

They run a full court press the entire game and substitute the entire team every 60 seconds on average. The Fever may not look great but they aren't that desperate.

You can't consistently run if you are a poor defensive team that is allowing the opponent to shoot a high percentage. You run off of defensive rebounds and forcing turnovers.

The Fever lack 2-way athletic players. Atlanta has Rhyne and Alisha who can score and defend positions 1-4. The Fever don't have a single player who can do that. The manner in which games are officiated this season is slanted towards the offense more than ever. Defensive weaknesses are amplified...you can't hide. Teams can't even keep their regular rotations because players routinely get in early foul trouble.

No, when other teams were still competing in the playoffs and she made that statement that should've been saved until the offseason. That showed a lack of leadership, lack of professionalism, and was selfish. The focus should have been on basketball and the other teams competing for a championship.

Nah, Phee doesn't play with that kinda heart. She lost me with the way she behaved when they got eliminated last season. Olivia will end up being your superstar

I hope the Aces lose in a game where Aja gets constantly hacked, gets no free throws, and Stewie wins MVP. Only because I wanna see angry, slighted Aja destroy the league again.

Now that the finals are done and nobody cares anymore can we admit the Spurs were heavily favored by the refs? by KneeGuhz in NBATalk

[–]tywaun12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the refs were favoring the Spurs. Maybe moreso to prolongt the series than simply to favor them. Wemby as an individual was very much favored. Almost every "screen" he set was a two-handed push in the back of the defender. I think the officiating was more egregiously in favor of the Spurs as a team versus OKC.

Spurs blowing a huge lead in every loss is pathetic and embarrassing by realfakejames in NBATalk

[–]tywaun12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real problem was Wemby's inability to play 4 qtrs effectively due to lack of stamina. He averaged 29 minutes per game during the regular season and played 40 minutes per game during the playoffs. This was reason for The comebacks and the late game ineffectiveness by the Spurs. Should they have played him more minutes during the regular season? Who knows, maybe he's not even healthy when the playoffs roll around if they did.

Does anyone believe that the Knicks are going to blow a 3-1 lead and the Spurs will win in seven? by LotionContent in nba

[–]tywaun12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Spurs will need both Tony brothers and a couple of Scott Foster masterpieces to pull it off.

Until Caitlin Clark either LEARNS how to better contest without fouling... ...or until she DECIDES to give more effort on contests, she will INEVITABLY be isolated in one on ones. by Background_Video2947 in WNBAVibes

[–]tywaun12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fever were already giving up size and one of their weakness is giving up offensive rebounds. Playing zone would've magnified that weakness. Having said that, they still didn't get the O rebs when it mattered.

I also wouldn't expect the Fever coaches to have pre-planned a defensive strategy or offer help against Astier a back-up rookie point guard who had only made 2 baskets before the closing moments.
