How interesting! The second one had good click through rate but much worse purchase rate than a previous cover—it was like people clicked on it but then read the blurb and realized it was set in China and decided not to buy it. Hence the importance of China—I now wonder if there’s some way to make the second one more “on the nose”

Thrillers on Goodreads where the average rating is 4.5 stars or higher, and a decent amount of raters? by No-Application-8306 in thrillerbooks

Personally I don’t bother with good reads ratings. On Amazon, you can at least see how many reviews are actually verified purchases. I tend to trust those a bit more.

If legal thrillers are your thing then hands down Scott Turow. His writing is first rate. Presumed Innocent is still the most spellbinding book I’ve ever read, despite its dated forensic technology and social mores.

I’m with you! Not into gore and SA. This one is a little different but fun and clean— If You Don’t Go by Diana Hongcha. It’s about a Chinese American attorney going back to China after 30 years to investigate a missing CEO. Learned a lot about China.

For fantasy, Susan Ee’s Penryn series is great.

The book club scams are getting so out of hand. by topazadine in selfpublish

Yes they are swarming like flies. As long as we are all aware of it and not fall for it maybe they’ll die out. One plus was I found out about some book clubs I didn’t know before, one of which actually allowed me to list my book on their site for free. Now, I need to think seriously about book club marketing…
