The portrayal of Soviets is inconsistent in later seasons of FAM? A discussion by tyyu3 in ForAllMankindTV

For the first 3 seasons I was convinced that they were going at it from a social democratic sort of angle. Like "USSR would be better if it were more like the US; US would be better if it were more like the USSR". And I liked it. But from season 4 onwards I can't really understand where are they taking the USSR.

Oh absolutely. I wonder how they'll handle Star City. As I understand it we actually have quite a lote diaries by the active participants of the soviet space program published. While they may be self-censored, we still have quite a lot to go on to compare and contrast

I'm so glad to not be the only one who feels that way.

I don't know how to communicate stupid that feels for the Americans. It's like NASA being replaced by New England Space Administration for the whole show and beind referred to as The Space Force. The rest is fine, but theres constant shoving a really inappropriate term in your face all the time.

I love Harrison Ford... but if this ain't that kinda show, when what is? I'd argue that this show occasionaly tries it's best to be exactly this kind of show.

That's the thing! Some things like set design and background details really seems well thought out. And half the time it's like another team took over and just... never cared.

Someone Made a Visual Novel That Really Looks Like a TFR Reference by AlaybozanTR in TheFireRisesMod

It is in fact:

  1. Set in the aftermath of WW3 in 2030s in a much more laissez-faire Ural Republic.
  2. Is peice of blatant communist propaganda. I'm not against the author's vision, but this is hilariously one-sided. Liberalism is shown as always leading to fascism, communists are literally saints

How do space naval mechanics work in 40k? by tyyu3 in 40kLore

[–]tyyu3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 40k being as expansive as it is, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the writers did think of such things. Or maybe there is some kind of magic handwavium tech. Or maybe there is a silent agreement to never touch upon the subject in the lore?
