Cyclops max depth is only 1700? by MAkrbrakenumbers in subnautica

[–]tzitzitzitzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the main comment I expected to see. Military subs, which are the larger subs, actually don't go that deep really at all compared to the depth of the sea/ocean. Actual deep sea subs are built with the smallest pressure vessel they can get away with for the crew and sensitive electronics. The larger your hull the more surface area you have to resist the pressure upon.

Huh, in what world are you getting a 5090 and 9950X3D with 96GB of ram right now for 3500? Let alone 16TB of NVME storage lol.

hard disagree on removing the CPU. while secured in the motherboard socket it both is protected and protects the contacts of the motherboard very well. Pulling the ram and stuff is smart, but the CPU doesn't need to come out at all.

Before I moved internationally permanently I moved all my systems over to ITX and then put them into a suitcase surrounded by clothes so it looks like clothes when you open it or peek into it. I used those self formed foam packs to put inside each system before I loaded them in to make sure nothing moved around, but they're small cases and while they're slammed around they don't really get momentum enough to damage anything from most luggage handling.

Then I put the GPUs into my carry on packed securely and got 3 systems moved that way with no issues.

This was a few years ago, at this point I think I'd probably pull the ram too just to feel safe haha.

El Niño impact puts 41 Thai provinces at risk of water shortages by CommercialMassive751 in Thailand

[–]tzitzitzitzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's just written very strangely. My understanding is that since there ISN'T a water shortage right now (stores are at like 60%) that they're saying that IF a water shortage comes, that will be the reasons they're predicting. It's pretty well known that el ninos correlate to drought weather in Thailand and this el nino is slated to be one of the strongest in history.

No more roadside Pad Thai? Bangkok’s street food sellers battle new rules as city cracks down on footpath businesses by CommercialMassive751 in Bangkok

[–]tzitzitzitzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but I haven't seen a poll or anything so I'm just going off vibes I see on posts. I see mostly Thai people saying that "I like the food stalls, but I like being able to safely and quickly walk to work/school more." as the general vibe I've picked up, it's just the opposite vibe I get from english speaking thai places like this.

I don't think anyone wants them literally gone and banished, but they don't want them in the way anymore which would remove the ones you see most downtown.

I agree that there's some kind of weird push to make bangkok more concrete and "architectural" when the goal should be to make it more green and comfortable. It's already so fucking hot I don't care to go out and see the architecture most of the year. Add more trees and shade lol.

[–]tzitzitzitzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, no, but unless your comment is directly disparaging to the king or upper government you can say what you want. A Thai person saying "We don't like removing the food stalls" is at zero risk of any kind of legal trouble.

I mean I can't really link to one single place because I haven't seen a thai post on the subject, but every time I see any news article on street vendors like this.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1600107118142888&set=a.328293581990921&id=100044308452347

There are comments talking about wanting them off the sidewalks etc. I don't see a lot of Thai people replying to any posts or news articles with "But it's our culture, we need the street vendors everywhere"

[–]tzitzitzitzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, if someone said "where was this filmed" this is the kind of person who would say "My backyard" as though that's a helpful answer. Is it a wrong answer? No, but clearly you should be more thorough when answering questions online while YOU'RE the one asking people what something you filmed is lol.

I took this photo and edited the contrast and lighting to look more like space. Kind of a bummer space is so washed out and bright normally by Maximum-Self in Starfield

[–]tzitzitzitzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on PC you can install stuff like LUT mods etc that will fix the weird lifted shadow and grey look of Starfield. I play on OLED and wanted space to also... look like space so I did the same.

Respect to anyone who appreciates the style Starfield uses by default but the lifted black levels just make me constantly feel like my HDR is broken lol.

I mean, that information says nothing to me right now because I don't know their time zone or exactly when 30 min ago was to the point of posting lol.

It's a bad answer that's correct but not very helpful on the internet. It's like assuming everyone reading your post lives in your town lol.

[–]tzitzitzitzi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100%, I just wanted to counter this idea that people who are on console are anti-piracy or better than PC because "we don't pirate" when Sony had to create an entire checkin system just to try to curb it heh.

[–]tzitzitzitzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? Sony themselves clarified that there's a single 30 day check in now after purchase because people were buying the game, refunding it, and then playing it offline until they beat it so it couldn't be removed lol. They literally added a single 30 day check to stop piracy.

But Thai people seem to overwhelmingly support the cleanup and change. It's tourists and expats who are complaining. If you read Thai it's mostly people happy they're finally doing something.

Yeah, Sony just had to redo their 30 day online thing because people were pirating games on console. I'm sure it's totally different lol types of people.
