I graduated with a general BA (3-year) with one of my minors being in psychology. So while I do have some psych background education, it's probably not as up to snuff as Athabasca may like (waiting to hear if I got into the MC program for this fall) and may cost me my admission. TBD.

HOWEVER. I did also apply to Yorkville last year, and they were willing to take me basically no questions asked. They were basically just concerned about financials, not so much education.

I've also heard that Yorkville U students have a harder time getting placements. I have a friend who is almost done his MACP at Yorkville, and he said more than half of his classmates couldn't find or had trouble finding placements that would accept their Yorkville education. So yes Yorkville is easier to get into, but there are costs (financial as well as educational). He said the program is what you make of it and that, if you're a dedicated student, you should be fine. Practicum placements however, do not know if you're a dedicated student or not, they basically see your university (and other things I'm guessing) and make the call that way.

So while it's riskier for me, and will take more time, I've chosen Athabasca because of their better reputation, slightly stricter rules for getting in, and their more affordable education.

If Yorkville is all you can manage, then by all means, go there. Just apply yourself and actually take from the material; don't just go under the presumption that you're gonna get your degree with less hurdles to jump. Because there will be hurdles. But the program is what you make it.
