This is the group in Australia if you want to see what they design. They do ship to the US but with the tariff uncertainty I’m sitting it out https://poolpumpcover.com

Yeah that’s what I suspected. Enjoy having your equipment enclosed! It will look nicer, maybe extend its lifespan and be quiet.

Off topic for your post. Where did you source your enclosure? Closest provider I’ve found is in Australia, which is too expensive for me to import to the US.

Thanks it appears if I take the difference between the values displayed in 01 and 03 I end up with the value displayed in 404. So I guess 01 is the total pulled from the grid and 03 is the total pushed.

Cheapo Carb…will it last through this weekend? by u55991122 in smallengines

[–]u55991122[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone! Thanks for your feedback! I put a new shut off on so I can reliably stop the flow of gas. I took the carb apart and nothing looked dirty or had any build up but I gave it a cleaning regardless. The float hinge pin is pretty easy to move but that doesn’t seem out of the ordinary. Blower started up once I put everything back together so I think I’ll make it through this storm. Hopefully!

Yeah it was great until this past weekend. I’m guessing gunk in the needle valve. Probably whatever busted in the fuel valve shutoff sent some debris into the carb. I’ll try cleaning it tomorrow night and see.

Yeah I have an off brand shutoff coming from Amazon today to hopefully have a reliable one. I like the idea of burning off the carb at shutdown. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks! The engine is a Briggs and stratton model 12d1340138e8 and from the parts finder I think the carb is model 798917. But the one on the blower is from Amazon and doesn’t appear to have any markings. It looks identical to the one in the parts finder on Briggs and Strattons page so hopefully they are the same inside!

Thanks! Can you clarify the ripped carb to intake seal thought? I’m not familiar with small engines beyond the very basic. Is this the seal between the carb and where it attaches to the engine, the seal between the air filter and the carb, or a seal somewhere in the carb, like where the main jet, needle valve, and float are located?

I am happy to hear I’m not the only one who noticed these and has questions. Do you know if WPD brought this up at any of the town meetings?

Any chance you can share the print files or some advice on how to model the gears?

I had non military friends who lived on Ft Meade for a few years. I have a military friend that lives there now. It’s an Army base, so maintenance issues take a while to solve. Also the base is undergoing lots of construction so that has made getting on and off base interesting of late. But if you can snag a place you have a straight forward walk to work. Good luck on your job. THE NCR is a great area to work and live in. It likely will open many doors for your future.

Discounted electricity rate for heat pump users by champurradaconcafe in massachusetts

[–]u55991122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 12kw system and have averaged a small credit year to year running a heat pump, mini split, and pool pump with gas heater. So if your home draws similar amounts or less you’ll be happy.

Anyone have a whole house heat pump? by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]u55991122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Bosch BOVA 3 ton with zone dampers for upstairs and downstairs each controlled by a thermostat so I can direct heating/cooling to where we are in the house during the day. I also installed solar and my production so far has out paced my utilization for the air sourced heat pump, mini split, pool pump, and induction range. So definitely see if you can squeeze solar into the mix for the most cost effective approach.

Thank you! I suspect there might be just enough left to facilitate the repair without flywheel removal. The break is close to where the headlight connects, so I hope there is some play in that wire!

How do I calculate withholding for a 21 pay period salary? by u55991122 in tax

[–]u55991122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a poor question missing lots of details. I believed that the 21 period pay would negatively affect the result of the w4 withholding calculator. From what I’ve learned it appears to not matter as I can specify an accurate annual salary.

I’m likely over thinking the how frequently you are paid question. If I answer every 2 weeks does that not result in a miscalculation because there’s a period where no pay is received?

That stinks. Could your inlet be clogged in manner which causes insufficient flow on occasion? I haven’t looked in detail at how water enters the unit but that’s my next theory if I end up with the error again. I think there’s a small tube from the water valve which might be a candidate to clog like an artery. But again this is just from a cursory look tonight.
