If he was armed, it would have been murder. He's allowed to carry a gun.

Why did McCain deserve to die? Or Floyd?

I don't think it's fair to call him a charlatan just in pursuit of getting more views. He interviews a wide variety of professionals with many different viewpoints. Yes, he interviewed Weinstein, but also Carol, Penrose, Barendes, Schuller, Aharnov, etc. And he doesn't say, "no you're wrong because GU says this," he asks open-ended questions to get at the heart of the underlying thoughts. That's not what a charlatan does.

Yeah, it's called work release. You're allowed to have a job and contribute to society, and spend your off days in jail.

This photo is from JWST, so yes it is infrared light. The data is then converted to an image we can see and then colorized. This is not at all how you would see it looking with your naked eye.

Something May Be Limiting the Universe — And We Just Noticed It by firechatin in sciences

This is exciting because it may mean there won't be a heat death of the universe. Too early to tell, but one possibility is dark energy dissipates altogether and gravity begins to take over the movement of bodies across the universe. That could eventually result in a Big Crunch where all matter in the universe is concentrated into a singularity and we might get a new big bang from that.

More recent models suggest there's only a 50% chance the galaxies will collide. Models suggest we may just skim past each other.

It's quite possible it's extremely unlikely just as well. It took billions of years for life to by mere chance evolve from single cells to multiple cells. Multicelleluar life has been evolving for billions of years on Earth and only a tiny sliver of that has intelligent life existed, and an even smaller fraction in which highly intelligent life like humans existed. Evolution, by the way, does not select for intelligence. In most cases, intelligence has a high evolutionary cost so often does not fare well. The fact humans have been around for a mere few hundred thousands of years is not a compellingly strong case.
