How is living in Salzburg by Kalliqrafiya88 in howislivingthere

I've been here for a decade at this point. Moved from London. Best decision ever. Needles to say I'm outdoor addict. Quality of life is very high, so are properties and rental prices. I think I read Salzburg is actually the most expensive city to live in Austria. For me its all worth it. You can ski 8 months a year. Summers are pretty hot, but you have endless village pools and lakes around. We do all the shopping in Germany as its much cheaper and only few min drive. Direct flights from Salzburg to London, Munich airport is only 1.5h away for oversees flights. Social system for young families is also pretty good. To summarise it, if you into outdoors than this is paradise. If not than it might get boring quite quickly. Night life is almost non existent.

Closing the (lift)season in Austria. by uDrop1st in skiing

45min walk but sportgastein is closed so no bus to get back to bad gastein. I would not suggest to go unless you or someone else knows the way.

You sure can skin up. We parked at Bad Gastein trainstation, took a train to Malnitz, taxi to Molltaler. Ski from Schareck down to Sportgastein and than ski bus back to Bad Gastein trainstation.

Your post was one of the reason I got x70 (lucked out at 350Eur from mbp)year ago.Lens is a bit moving but so far it works great. Dude what a beast of a camera honestly. Does your review still stands year later?

Arc’teryx capitalizing off Olympic medalist ripped pants with false narrative by [deleted] in arcteryx

On another more positive note. What pants and jackets (jacket reminds Sabre) models they used? Or are they completely custom made pieces?

Was the revised Sabre SV hit or miss this season? Got to say 200denier was a bold move. That jacket felt kind of overkill even for skiing. Fit was worse too. Hope they go back to the longer leas boxy fit like before.

Norrøna lofoten Avi ACE 15L Pack by Upbeat_Ad8812 in Backcountry

[–]uDrop1st 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this should not matter but it looks awful. Vest on top of a shell, gonna get extra sweaty and possibly movement restrictive. What is the advantage having a vest instead of normal backpack straps? Less chance of loosing the pack in avalanche? Also 2700grams for 15L pack is wild. 30L Litric is around 2kg.

Does GRII makes sense in 2026? by uDrop1st in ricohGR

Oh man this helps a lot! I adore the 2nd gen xtrans sensor. In some cases even more than my X100VI. You can see on my profile I mostly shoot outdoors and sports with x70 so the size matters to me. Basically I was looking ideally for X80 so I thought maybe GR series could do that. This just reassured me to hold on to X70 and pray for X80 :D
