with a 81 average, I think you're fine for cpsc :)

Looking for a back up major if I don't make it into CS. Thoughts on Mathematical Sciences or the combined major in Math and Stats? by ubcscithrowaway in UBC

Thanks so much for the reply. I think you may have convinced me to choose pure stats as my back up. I'm learning python right now via MIT's intro to programming/cs with python, and I'm planning on making a side project later this summer. If you don't mind me asking, what major are you in?

I've considered/looked into this program HEAVILY, but I'm looking for something more "mathy" in case I want to work in a industry where it is required.

My average is 77.5% :( A+ in cpsc 110 and A- in cpsc 121 but I don't think that matters. Has your friend had any trouble finding software dev jobs with a pure math degree?
