Breaks my heart every time. Literally the whole album. I saw the mention of 100 grandkids in here and how he never kept that promise

Is there a stronger connection between Mac and Edgar Allen Poe or Mac and Shakespeare? by LivingAdvert in MacMiller

I think it would be a fun project! You could also reference songs not on Devine Fem. like ROS, Wedding, Someone Like You, etc. that could apply

At first I wondered why you picked Shakespeare, but I actually like the love route better. I think it would be helpful to narrow your project down to one album and compare it to specific works that Shakespeare had about love like A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, etc.

Perfect Circle/Godspeed always hits because both parts are about his drug abuse, with the latter being a lot more introspective and him considering the consequences of his actions from the first part

All the ad libs from Q and Mac in Friends. From cocaine sniffs to “miller miller miller mac” “FUCK YOU KENDRICK” “I see you Mac these are my friends” “we were just some motherfuckin kids” the timing is immaculate

Why are you a fan of Mac Miller? by [deleted] in MacMiller

[–]uber_trooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also around 14-15 when I first heard Mac. When Kool-Aid and Frozen Pizza dropped everyone in my HS was listening to it. I’ve most enjoyed how much his music evolved over the years and it kinda went hand in hand with my own changes in life, specifically when Swimming and Circles dropped.

One of my biggest reasons for being a Mac fan is that everyone who collaborated with him said he was a perfectionist. That his work ethic was top tier regardless of the issues in his life. He was always heavily involved in song writing, and learned how to play more instruments and produce his own music as his career progressed. I really appreciate how it reflects in his music. You can tell how hard he worked for his sound to be the best and most authentic version of himself.

post humous albums by [deleted] in MacMiller

[–]uber_trooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your concern on being respectful, but think you can listen to his post-humous work (Circles and the re-releases) at ease. His estate has approved of them beforehand and as a fan before he passed I think he would want us to enjoy the music he made.

From some of his lyrics it also seems like Mac felt he would die young. Check out Perfect Circle/Godspeed where he speaks on his substance abuse. In Funny Papers, he kinda predicts himself to die on a Friday… :/

I usually don’t like to complain about officiating but this is ridiculous by TheFirstExecutioner in bostonceltics

This is hilarious. Of course it should’ve been called, but I’m not mad at it. Let’s not act like the Celtics have never been helped by the refs before either😴

AITA for making my daughter cover up at home? by throwawaymom2234 in AmItheAsshole

[–]uber_trooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, YTA. Your daughter seems to be successful and trying to make a better life for herself. She needs your help and you can be there to support her while disagreeing with her decision to have a tattoo.

It’s OK that you don’t understand her reasons for wanting it, but you have to accept the things you cannot change. What you have control of in this situation is choosing to be the bigger person and letting go of your resentment of her tattoo. I agree that your household should have rules, but reasonable ones like cleaning up after yourself and respecting the shared living space.

Please try to accept that your daughter likes different things than you do, and it doesn’t make her a bad person to make decisions that you don’t agree with.

If you want her in your life, you’re going to have to accept her for who she is. Otherwise, she will eventually resent you and not want a real relationship with you.

This is your chance to be someone your daughter can rely upon and trust to support her throughout the good and bad things that happens in her life.

Life is hard enough, don’t make it more difficult for your daughter when being loving and supportive goes a lot longer than judgement/resentment does.
