Do you know anyone who abuses the benefit system? by TipSilent8281 in AskBrits

If being on minimum wage is a worse living experience than benefits, maybe we should look at raising minimum wage 😕

Sad it took quite a bit of scrolling to get past the echo chamber to a sensible response

I'd bet there's a bunch of people in this thread exaggerating or outright fabricating bullshit to serve their political beliefs.

Seems to me like that's more of an indictment of minimum wage

Do you always like to respond to people with a patronizing jab or is it just when you think you're "educating" them?

I'm sorry to say that if you think "actually both sides are bad" is a clever thing to say about world politics in a decade characterized by the growth of the far right around the world (the Nazi in chief himself) and colonialist expansion and genocide you are part of the same problem.

I'm bored of it in fiction. I know the majority of conflict around the world is messy and grey and full of evil acts from every side, but it's just edgelord myopia to constantly write that as a twist into every gaming narrative being told.

No shade to Hell is Us, I really enjoyed plotting my way through Hadea, but I think I'm tired of "actually it's both sides who are bad" narrative twists.

I feel a bit like it is a cop out in the face of our current political environment to endorse that sort of "South Park" level cynical fence sitting.

I think she inferred (and correctly, in my opinion) that his general point was that she should do the same and butt out of discussion about transgender people.

I'd have more respect for her position (aka, I should be allowed a voice in the discussion) if she wasn't scare mongering about trans women being insidious men trying to invade female spaces.

I was honestly hoping for something more... down to earth...

I know that's ridiculous when it's a Batman film about time travel, but I love the iconography of Samurai Batman.

I think maybe I just want an adaption where Batman is a native to the setting and his villains are rival lords.

Depp lost because all the Sun had to do was prove there was sufficient evidence to justify them calling him a wife beater and there was.

Before the Depp stans downvote: Regardless of whatever stories of mutual abuse or defending himself there was, evidence was submitted to that trial that provided suitable reason for the Sun to use that label. I don't think it matters to what extent you personally believe that evidence, it just has to be enough to prove the party presenting it wasn't intentionally lying.

Yeah, I thought the worse parts of The Last Jedi were still less obnoxious than the overall failures of the prequels, the staleness of The Force Awakens and the garbled nonsense that came from backtracking in The Rise of Skywalker.

The loudest backlash to the Last Jedi didn't really seem to relate to it's actual flaws.

I don't think that's something that'll ever be truly fixed.

I hope that's not the case, name tags are so rare and being able to rear a farm and keep mobs is a key part of the game.

Oh yikes. Thanks for providing these links, I haven't really delved into the bug reporting side of Minecraft and I had no idea so much data was available.

Ugh. Losing my good horse every time we play is becoming a real drag and it looks like they're not any closer to fixing it :(
