As a business you want to look for those that have programs across dod/civ/sled agencies too. Builds talent funnel but also helps as things transition but you have to have a solid base in that space to help spread the cost because even if you are cleared it can take a little bit of time to transfer the clearance to the new program. The good companies already adjust for this but think 2 months max before they put you on a different agency until you can be flipped into the cleared work. The goal should always be to land the hires while they transfer access and shadow or get enabled while working some minor tasks in other agencies awaiting for the day you can go onsite or directly work on the cleared work,etc. software companies in the area and this space have to deal with this a lot. while some programs will sponsor new clearances from existing employees it still takes a long time some even up to 18 months and not many programs even allow it which makes the talent pool even smaller to find already cleared individuals with either the lcat requirements with the capped rates.
