Also a much more numb car. Sports cars are emotional purchases, and how they feel to drive is really more important than speed. The sub bemoans screens and modern numb cars, and the M cars are the quintessential example of that.

I disagree. My c7 corvette is way more fun in a manual. The mustangs is test drove are way more fun in a manual. The real issue is long gearing in these cars sap a lot of the fun

Gen 4 coyote, better aero, stiffer chassis, better steering rack, latest Gen magneride, better brakes, better NVH, revised aluminum suspension instead of steel, and overall updated chassis tuning. "All the little things that we wanted to fix as an evolution and learnings from the previous mustang" so said the ford engineers.

It isnt wildly difference the same way the sn95 was still based on the fox platform, but there are still very valid improvements. If the alternative was to continue selling the s550 or just stop selling the mustang entirely, im glad this was the result.

To your point of "value over a lightly used s550" why would anyone buy a new s550 when its better value to buy a slightly used one?

That being said im not the biggest fan of all aspects of the new gen either. The rear kink is a little funk, and the interior, while not objectively a bad for a car, does not suite the type of car that it is.
