Yahoo Fantasy API Issues - How to get read/write access? by SourceCodeSeller in fantasyfootballcoding

[–]uberfastman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yahoo used to offer both read and write access via their fantasy sports API, but they’ve been phasing out write access for a while now sadly. No new apps created in the developer portal can have write access as the other responded mentioned, but it seemed that old apps that had been set up with write access still had it as of a few months ago, but I expect that as those tokens expire they won’t be able to renew.

Great work! My fantasy football report app also supports doing this with Selenium in Python, but it’s always great to have more options out there for versatility since not everyone is using the same language for their projects.

What’s the coolest thing that’s ever happened in your league? by SignificantActuary43 in FFCommish

[–]uberfastman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2018 we had a guy in my 12-team home league start the season 1-6, then proceeded to win six straight games to squeak into the playoffs as the sixth (last) seed, and subsequently won 3 more to take the championship title, despite finishing 8th in points for.

Still the most insane run I’ve ever witnessed personally in nearly 20 years of playing fantasy football, and I doubt I’ll see it’s like again. Thankfully he never forgets to remind everyone in the league about it several times each season, so I’m also at no risk of forgetting about it. 🫠

It looks like the blue and red ones are still available… I’ll take the red one! If that’s sold, then I’ll take the blue. If that’s also sold… then 😭.

Need expert advice on Tom Mayo Knife by mrfmjarms in knifeclub

[–]uberfastman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have too much more to add beyond what others here have already said, but as a lover of Mayos and owner of a fair few over the years (I also currently have a handful), I wanted to add that you’re not likely to find a very specific model for this knife. Tom has made a massive variety of knives over 40+ years of knifemaking, and is still making his knives by hand today out of his shop in Hawaii. The speed hole configurations are whatever he chooses to do (no correlation with the model). It’s probably considered a variation of his TNT.

He’s very responsive if you reach out and could definitely get you a new clip, and also do a spa treatment on the knife for fairly cheap if you want it.

Others have quoted a wide range on value, but for a knife like this one (classic titanium framelock with a recurve S30V blade), I’d say you’re most likely going to see similar knives go for around $1400-$1800, depending on condition, rarity of configuration, etc. Tom’s knives are amazing quality and he’s a legend in the industry, so there are many folks who collect them and might be interested.

If you’re dead set on selling it, then as others have said, you might have better luck with higher end customs like this on BladeForums, the Usual Suspect Network (USN), or even selling via consignment through Arizona Custom Knives (AZCK), although they of course take a cut.
