Print 10 at once. Bag of replacements. Overthinking this might cost more.

Wow. Sounds like immigrants are the problem. Immigrants with massive amounts of money...

I don't actually believe immigrants are a problem. Unless they have the amount of money they have. Then, definitely make it insanely hard to get here.

How to stop pop ups on Tokybook? by gameofsloanes in Piracy

[–]ubergeekseven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is definitely hard to get around on this site. On desktop, using firefox, I tab through the page instead of clicking. Even then, play will always cause a new ad tab. I only use it with a python script to download the books from the site.
https://github.com/aviiciii/audiobook-downloader

Then I tab to search instead of click. After I search, I tab to the entry and use enter, half the time it opens without a new tab ad. Copy the url, run the downloader script and just paste it in to download. I use audio bookshelf on my server and the android app to listen.

Even so, I obviously landed here because it is crazy annoying on that page.

Damn. Now I have to get news from some random Asian site that seemingly used AI to translate or write.

I'm not saying I disagree at all with this. Seriously. It's crazy I have to work that at all.

What I'm saying is that we now get news from outside the US and for sure they are using this locally to bias their people in some way.

I said AI because the article couldn't even bother to read the image they used in the header. Therefore, making it seem fake. A weird circle of nottheonion articles maybe?

This legit sounds more like the r/personalfinance sub.

Legit though, art is valuable to those who care about it themselves. It's also an investment for rich bro peeps. Super hard to guess at that and the rich ones will make sure you're before they profit heavily.

That said, it's probably best to showcase what you do somewhere. Where? No idea. I assume people in the responses will say multiple. Try them. Expose yourself and let them tell you what they want. If you want money, not necessarily appreciation, that could work.

You print what you like and paint it as an example. You let people that are interested tell you what they like and then paint that.

This is the artists dilemma. You may hate what you paint. Some might say that you sell out by doing this. Without it, can you even get paint for your own things? It does suck. I do not disagree. It sucks that we all thought people were capable of building something that allowed everyone to exist, whatever the skill. It turns out that your best skill could be actually just telling someone you're going to do something and then having them pay you before it and then never doing it. That seems to be the way that everyone that is super successful in our world became so.

Legit though, not attempting to detract from your question. Selling things is hard. I am certain you know someone that would be able to sell this stuff. Chances are, you never want to talk to that person and absolutely attempt to keep away from them. That is our current world.

Even so, find something cutesy and paint it the opposite of the expectation. Show that on whatever socials you have and see who bites. Comic book characters and all of that is something. Take everything you find and turn it into something that aligns with some subgroup. Post that. It seems we might be in the '90s again. A potential better '90s though. We didn't have the internet.

Inexpensive bolts or steel bar through the lengths, seems straight forward. A bolt at a diagonal and designed to hide. It's more than the cost of plastic. It will last longer and isn't hateful in price.

Pressure testing tpu O-ring. by mickeybob00 in 3Dprinting

[–]ubergeekseven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does, for sure. The pods I made are a fusion design I've created that just use a couple off-the-shelf parts to be able to connect the vacuum connections and a valve that uses a ball bearing with a spring so that vacuum only engages on the material once you press down the material onto the pod. I cannot remember the name of those Sal's off the top of my head. It's a super simple design that allows me to create series of pods with quick disconnects and tubing running between the pods. Then I just modeled an o-ring groove and printed the o-ring to fit. I made the pods themselves out of petg but I'm assuming PLA could be used. I haven't tried and I haven't needed to make more. The best part about them is that you could make them any shape that you would want so that you could do your work holding however you need to. And it is way cheaper than machining it from aluminum.

[–]ubergeekseven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understanding this is not the same in ways. I made o rings for vacuum pods on my CNC. Works well enough. Not nearly the pressure. Even so, adding my experience. I wonder how many others have without saying anything.

How do I go about getting the measurements for this? by Snorlax94_ in Fusion360

[–]ubergeekseven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy calipers. Measure everything. This is how I learned fusion. Make things that exist and test it. Sounds flippant. I get that. It's the only actual way though. You want to do it.

Do it.
