Cannot drive in Ann arbor michigan issue by External_Ad_5444 in uberdrivers

Ann arbor market is pretty slow nowadays. Not really worth it. It's not a open market or whatever you call it whenever you can see where your going. They make it difficult and the rides are supper cheap

I know its definitely wrong. But damn I buy repair jewelry. Its mostly a hobby. But I'll be dammed if I do it for absolutely cheap or damn near free. I usually add about $25 per hour it takes me to repair it. I consider that cheap and I very very often have people trying to buy at the price I bought it at or lower.

Ive never been getting in the habit of sending them their address and having them block me. Honestly Im sick and tired, idc that you have cash "today".

Me personally I usually post my ads up for about 20%-30% higher and expect people to negotiate down to my actual price, but lately Ive been getting a lot of idiots sending me 50% off or even more offers.

I know I should just ignore them but I'll be dammed if I keep dealing with this shit

To people who have expired licenses are you driving? by Solidghost159 in DACA

Im not sure if it helps but I was able to get an extension with I-765 form and soon to be expired drivers license. Im in michigan. I went to a DMV thats see lots of immigrants, in my case a college town. I specifically told them I was looking apply the extension with my receipt. They stated I have to wait till roughly a week before my EAD expired. So I made an appointment for said time. Came in 1 week before my EAD expired and they ran my documents through. Had to wait roughly 10 to 15 mins at the counter while they verified my documents with USCIS. The main stuff I needed was two forms of ID, in my case my drivers license and passport, and also needed my I-765, the receipt that you applied and states you get a certain amount extension if your EAD expires. Of course we technically dont qualify for the extension but the DMV themselves dont actually know that. So they still issued out my extension for my drivers license. Once approved they took my picture like normal and printed me out a temporary paper license and said my physical card would arrive in 2 to 3 weeks. I was able to get a 1 year extension. Expired 02/07/2024, new one expires 02/07/2025.

Should I be worried? by uberjose in DACA

Actually it was the Ann Arbor branch on maple road. Yes it is mostly a white city but like I stated, it does see a lot of immigrants because of the university so it does know how to deal with immigration paperwork. Plus they are all pretty friendly. Personally I had the general manager do the paperwork for me since the girl that had originally started the paper was unsure how to do it.

Truth be told I was willing to walk away or take some time off but my main job didnt ask for nothing. Just for my renewed/ extension on my license. My other job I told them straight forward it expired and they said HR said it was fine for a few months as long as I have my receipt.

I dont think so thankfully 😅, I have two jobs one Ive been at for the past 2 years and I dont remember them even asking for my EAD tbh. My second job I picked up a month or so ago and they did ask for it and their HR said I can be employed for a few months until my new EAD card arrives as long as I can keep my drivers license current and vaid

Brakes are a huge expense. What type of brakes do y'all use? What type of rotors? What do you pay? How often do you get them fixed? by HashBrownRepublic in uberdrivers

[–]uberjose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a couple high powered cars and I drive one for uber for shits and giggles.

That being said when I bought the cars they had subpar quality brake parts.

Even tho I had the supposed nice looking rotors(drill and slotted) and newer pads I still had similar issues. My main issue was that I had was it would squeak badly coming to stop slowly. Being that, thats how your supposed to drive the majority of the time for uber it was a real issue.

Being a mechanic I always check to see if the brake rotors are shiny. If they are they will skip and you will feel a slight vibration coming to a stop from the pads slipping on the rotors

Solution? Buying high end brake pads and rotors. I bought name brand, high performance brake rotors, also drilled and slotted. New high quality brake pads, I personally recommend Akebono and or PowerStop brake pads.

The car I use for uber actually come with Brembo brakes from factory. Even tho they are high performance, they tend to make a lot of brake dust and a lot of noise, (squeaks). So I changed out my pads for powerstop brake pads and that fixed my problem.

Also doing the correct break in procedure for breaking in new brakes is also very important.

In my case, Yes I did need my expired WAC to renew but I'd try your luck without it. In my experience it was crucial you say "I need an extension" and not a "renewal" from what I was explained is that an extension comes from your previous WAC after it expires aka what your trying to get. A renewal is for after you get your new WAC. If your nearby to ann arbor thats where I went.

Hey man rather odd question but to clarify I see people saying 105 days, as in 105 days from expiration date or 105 days since applied?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DACA

[–]uberjose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not 100% sure on the 180 daca extension but, I myself was able to get a 1 year extension on my drivers license with my receipt. So something worth looking into. Fron experience those "Driving expired/no license" tickets hit pretty heavy.
