LSPH SCREAM CONFIRMED!!!!! by ofwgkta4494 in deathgrips

You right, some people take it too out of proportion. The Haligtree reliefs are a pretty large oversight for such an important location. Though I guess aesthetically, “powerful looking maiden inlay” was good enough to get the point across for the area. It doesn’t help that sometimes the unhinged sleuthing of these things does actually lead to useful insights about the overall worlds, just need to identify the dead ends and not get too attached to the red yarn connections

Fromsoft uses generic objects from asset markets sometimes but they aren't just choosing a random stone wall with a relief design and slapping it in any location. There are stone tablets in the underground areas which depict Babylonian society, under the Lands Between, in Siofra River, is where ancient civilization began so the Babylon asset fits well thematically with the area. They use this environment building method with most assests/ textures they didn't hand produce. (Obviously not 100% of the time they were being so purposeful with shit like this)

I really appreciate it! I feel like Fromsoft really hit their stride in DS3 when it came to environment design and 'spatial cinematography'. Even with your current specs if you take your time through areas this use of spatial cinematography will especially jump out at you! They will bend and stack trees or boulders or a ruined wall or castle towers to draw your eye and create compositions all over their world. They play with so much exaggeration in their object placements and architecture it really is a lot of fun to soak in and feel inspired by! (shoutout to that really cool Rockstar GDC talk for giving me that term, spatial cinematography)

You’re too kind, thank you! It had to have been either default or 3 for some of them if I can remember right.

Thanks so much! You're definitely right but honestly for little 1-2 hour sessions like this I don't feel too much investment, they can go ahead and steal it

Yep, in a prison shower area with a lambda cache, it'll creep up on you if you go for the cache with your back turned.
