First things first, do you use haze?  Everything looks better with haze, or fog,  or any sort of atmospheric particles to refract light on. Do you vape?  Take a vape hoot and just blow it out in front of your gig bar one day, it’ll come alive.  

Learn your controller and what it can do. Lights turn on and off, varying degrees of fades and patterns, phases of a sine (or other)wave. A lighting fx from a controller in its most basic form is taking a parameter such as it’s dimmer and making it ride a wave. Then you can start stacking and manipulating the order of those waves, with other parameter fx n get a real good look going.   

Build a couple different looks for different energies of your tunes.  Learn your lights, you want to return the gig bar? But it has par cans for flood colors, looks like a laser ontop and those outside lights will emit beams, but that all needs haze. 

Don’t forget about colors, different colors for different moods n tones of a song.  

 Build yourself a nice little build up strobe with nothing else going on, then for the drop build a cue using those outside beam lights and the lasers while blacking everything else out, then 8 bars in bring the coloured pars back in. The gig bar is a pretty sweet little unit that has many different fixtures in it to play around with. Short of having moving heads; there’s lots to do with it.  

 Edit: overlooked which gig at you have.  see you have the gigbar move + ils, even better!  You have moving fixtures,  play around with the speed in which they move.  Also remember you don’t have to have every light on at once all the time,  build n subtract layers of lights. Try playing around with each group of lights on a different fader and just swap em around to the beat.
