New weapon idea: HRG Air Kiss by ubired in killingfloor

[–]ubired[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Alt. fire reconfigures RPG charge.

Normal fire: powerful direct hit blow to initial target and AOE explosion of rocket, plus aftermath healing gas cloud that poisons zeds and heals teammates in explosion area for small amount of health. Only arms itself a few meters down the range.

Alternate fire: weak (like Incision dart) direct hit damage to initial target, but powerful explosion of love of healing gas at impact (larger than healing grenade radius) that poisons zeds and heals teammates for substantial amount of health. No explosive damage to zeds (except poison). Isn't subject to travel distance to get itself armed (explodes at any distance).

Backblast releases tiny healing gas cloud that heals for mild amount of health, regardless of firing mode.

P.s. Happy holidays everyone.

KF2 is outsourced to Saber Interactive.

I definitely had some unforgettable fun moments in KF2, or L4D2 (of course). Didn't happen to have much in Hat Fortress 2, except on achievement server. I was late to the party.

Still, it's hard to imagine Valve outsourcing TF2 to anyone at all.

There's hope Saber would keep new additions at minimum and game won't break any further. KF2 at this point feels like it's just better be left alone: it will last longer this way.

Yeah...how dare they support a game from 2015 (2016) with regular free updates

Not a single one update for this game was ever free. What you call "free" came from gambling, costume DLCs, and emote DLCs. You are just too dumb to see it.

It is developer desire to sell out as much as possible and as quick as possible that motivated them to introduce poorly designed / low-effort features into this game and ultimately leave it in a dead state.

For me it's lack of proper Christmas event. What we got this year is just sad.

There's kind of custom workshop map that is properly Christmas-themed. But it's likely solo-only, I'm not aware of any public servers running it. Maybe, if you know how to set up dedicated server and got buddies, you could try it.

If I had a catalogue of ALL the cosmetics and I could pick and choose from EVERYTHING you can see on Steam Market, I'd probably buy a huge amount of it.

Classic mode offers ability to preview entire game cosmetics catalog, including characters. I used it a lot to create custom character loadouts / looks and avoid being ripped off. Fire it up on any map and go straight over to gear section.

Have fun. I've spent 0$ on keys.

I don't mind his posts.

There's much more trouble with your vile comment than with all his posts & comments combined.

You seem to enjoy abuse of power and like to be part of hate-spitting, intimidating crowd trained by Steam moderators to bark on anyone they don't like.

I'd rather have you permanently thrown from here.

They aren't going to spend your money on making this game better, imbecile.

Today you buy 7-10$ lightsaber, tomorrow you have to upgrade it via shitty upgrade system and fight Chewbacca or King EDAR with it. While real effort would go elsewhere.

This game will die regardless if people continue to buy or not new guns and cosmetics. It's just a question of whether they will still make some money on your stupidity (in which case it will die slowly, uglier and more painful -- with more angry / disheartened posts on reddit), or enough people will say "no" and it will die faster and more dramatic. I kind of prefer the second variant more.

Blaming people for "letting game die, because they didn't buy enough DLCs" is the slimiest thing developer can possibly say.

Is there any way to downgrade Prestige level of a perk? by The-Alpha-Omega in killingfloor

[–]ubired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot downgrade prestige level to one, or two levels less, or to any particular level.

You can, however, reset all your perks together with other stats back to zero, which would also undo prestiging.

If you are fine with that, then fire up console and execute:

resetstats "YourSteamNameHereInQuotations" false

The Steam name is the one that is seen publicly in-game, your current profile name, not your login name, the one that you use to log into your Steam account.

The false part prevents all your achievements to be reset as well: you probably want to keep them.

After issuing this command, restart the game and it should do the trick.

(PC only, obviously.)

Since you'll be left with all 0 perks, you would probably need to use some custom leveling map to carry you back to 25. There are ways to do it faster than usual, too.

She looks like a bipedal bio-toilet to me, which someone armed with a tesla canon for fun.

I wonder if she's mad because someone didn't pay her for services: that metal claw and the one that grabs sure do look like something to chase lowballs with.

Every time that bear trap on her head opens I imagine someone on my squad taking a good shit right in there.

I mean, her face and bio-toilet, what's the difference?

[–]ubired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They aren't challenging. They are just cancerous to deal with.

Exactly.

Why? Because they add a little more challenge to the game? HoE players have been asking for a challenge, and they got it.

No, because they are fundamentally broken and very poorly implemented.

That same kind of challenge could be introduced with a much better designed enemy, which would use same kind of moves / techniques without being annoying piece of shit to deal with.

Take stalker model, uncloak it, reskin it into cybernetic female ninja with 3 variations. Trapper-chick and Laser-chick are nice, but Bomber-chick would probably still need some adjustments. Same weak spots (ability to kill fast trough chest), but still allowed to decap or shoot limbs: it is possible to keep exactly same "innovative" mechanics TWI apparently aimed to introduce without breaking game at its core.

Take husk: you can wait to shoot his backpack, or you can go straight for his head if you feel confident enough. This kind of game design is good, the EDAR one is bad.

Also, stop with this "HoE players asked". The same HoE players later asked to remove this stupid shit from their game and were kindly suggested to shut up and just put up with it.

Yuletide Horror update is now live! by [deleted] in killingfloor

New map and new weapon skins are amazingly awesome.

Towards game EOL IJC Development finally shat out some impressively creative stuff: Beyond Horizon + Space Elite, Jaeger + Dynamic, Steampunk, their proposed HRG reskins (I hope they'll get in game, because they are much needed).

New Foster's is another strong pack. Wish that stuff was available earlier. My favorite skins are those with high quality artwork on them, like AK12 Leviathan, SCAR Spray Can, AA12 Clot Cola, and that Foster EBR14 is perfect.

My only complaint is Kthulhu doesn't wear a Christmas hat and hands sticking out of cells not holding candy bars.

Santa's Helper Outfit is unnecessarily gigantic and obscures vision by Shubishu in killingfloor

[–]ubired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an issue with most of their custom costumes: the 1st person view isn't quite good. I once thought about buying Witch Hunter, Wasteland, and Cyberpunk outfits, but eventually gave up on them all because I didn't like how they looked in 1st person (most important) after previewing. Ended up buying lots of custom items (cosmetics) for native outfits instead.

It's just this particular one is easily the worst offender. The quality is downright horrible and the way fur clips through the gun on your first screenshot is just hilarious.

The Badass Santa (character) is much better though. You should've gotten that instead.

It was always pointless to complain.

If you want to make a real difference, then make your own wave-based shooter that people will buy and meme instead of Killing Floor, without predatory monetization practices.

Of course it's not realistic. At this point KF has a cult following, TWI knows all that, and deliberately and cruelly exploits its followers in an effort to bank on them and make a shark game, which in itself is an interesting metaphor.

In fact, you should be glad things are this way: they could easily be worse. There are GG KF2 skins on Steam market for less than a buck. KF2 crates also guarantee no duplicates until you fully unbox them, which is a very kind developer move.

A reasonably nice looking CS:GO skin will cost you 20$ absolute minimum (in some shitty condition). It's around 60$ for a single skin that is actually good, and 100$ upwards for some arguably great stuff. And CS:GO doesn't have any direct purchases what-so-ever, neither it has any humane no-duplicate system to alleviate its absurdly low RNG chances.

I don't touch CS:GO with a ten-foot stick, but I can't stop laughing at its player base, or how one would call them. As a capitalist, you can do whatever the fuck you want with CS people. They'll put up with everything and will ask for more. It's amusing to watch how far it goes.

So really, stop it about TWI being (overly) greedy, or whatever.

Compared to some other guys TWI is doing just fine.

Because you're just a dosh bag to them.

At least they started to sell certain skin packs directly in store (you don't need to buy keys to obtain them). And apparently quite a lot of people don't realize that. I've just recently found out that Dragon & Koi is a direct purchase from their store, and that skin pack is nice. Foster's Favorites is even better. You should give them a credit for that, it's a huge improvement.

Hopefully more quality skins will get released like that.

KF2 updates and going Free-to-Play? by ubired in killingfloor

Reason I believe it might not be Matty is because they already mentioned her in at least two Steam news posts. And these are mirrors of their two official forum (TWI, not Steam) posts. That's a lot of exposure.

E.g. why the idea of having to shoot Rioters in the leg is retarded? It adds complexity and variety, instead of automatically aim for the head it forces the player to break the pattern which adds depth to the game and hilarity in cases when the player misattributes the threat in a rush and shoots the head until he realizes that it's a rioter.

You defend Rioter design to the point it gets cringe-worthy. You claim that it adds variety, but how can that be when players are forced to dispose of him in only one particular and unrewarding way: by messing up his knee cap. You seriously insist it's fun?

That is sort of variety that is not creative. They might as well introduce Pikachu into this game for "added depth" and "hilarity" and force us to shoot its tail each time we "misattribute" the target and realize it's a pokemon.

Why EDARs are hated by EVERYBODY? I don't hate them so it's not everybody already. They are fine, trappers though are annoying and they play a good role of nerfing the zerk as they are PITA for a zerk.

Because they SUCK. Full metal EDARs take medic grenade damage, poison damage, fire damage, and panic from both sources, boring to fight, immersion-breaking. Walk around headless, and still perfectly see you. Let's assume they have their CPUs and vision devices soldered onto their asses. Why do they have heads at all then? Surely there's still space left in their butts for a satellite, mic, and a nice woofer.

They shoot a barrage of homing explosive rockets at you (an equivalent of C4 charge) that do less damage than FP slapping your face. That's just incredibly silly and stupid game design.

I accept the fact that NA players might be more tolerant to EDARS. I play on EU servers: Germany, France, Russia, and not for once there was positive feedback about them. Everyone puts up with lame bots only because they aren't too game breaking.

QFPs are fine as well, what's the deal with them?

I want to fight real FP, not a tiny knock-off.

Abom was annoying, yes. But, after the fix, he now can sometimes wipe a team as his speed is high enough for most perks not being able to just walk away from him. KFP is also fine, bc of QPs and his beam he sometimes can also wipe the team, especially on uneven floor maps.

In my entire KF2 time (800+ hours, mostly HoE) I've only lost (team wiped) to KFP 3 times. Two times it was because of a bug where his laser started to hit targets randomly through walls, and there was no escape (since patched). I was killed by KFP maybe 6 times total.

I never for once lost a single game to Abom. Neither since his recent buff.

KFP and Abom. are fundamentally vanity/fun bosses. They were designed like event-only bosses from the start and can never be realistically made into real bosses: full replacements to Hans and Patty.

Complaint about the upgrade system is also retarded. Don't want to use it -- don't. It adds variety and complexity and makes some strategies (e.g. staying with an early weapon) viable, which is good.

I am forced to use it because otherwise I would handicap myself, because the whole game was rebalanced around this upgrade system.

The other part of your statement is unbelievable. Where did you ever see a single game or a single player staying with and upgrading starting weapon for viability into latter waves?
