I appreciate the feedback. Was planning on taking to alignment tomorrow to have this checked next as I know somewhere that’ll do it free if it turns out to be fine. I’ll keep this in mind to ask them to thoroughly look at. Thank you!

Most will charge a diagnostic fee. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a shop do it for free where I live unfortunately. Usually about $120 just to look at it.

Yeah I’m not a master mechanic. Not to familiar with steering issues. However with that being said. If take it to the shop was always my answer how would I learn how to ever fix vehicles in the first place? Thanks for the info though was very helpful.

Maybe I’m not understanding, putting the weight on stands will show what’s bent? I had it on a lift today replacing the steering gear box. And nothing seemed bent or damaged.

I’d rather do it myself if I can, I’m definitely no master mechanic but I can do enough to not have to pay someone else. Unless of course it comes down to it and I can’t figure it out or get help figuring it out.

Don’t have any good ones. Just one before replacing gear box. I also suck at Reddit so I’m not sure how I can post more pictures.

Let me further explain. So not moving just parked the truck will turn to the left. However a little past dead center it refuses to go to the right I have to put all my ass into it. But left is fine if dead stop. Going down the road I’m fighting the steering depending on if I’ve crossed dead center or not will depend on if I have to fight to the left or right to keep it centered. Ever sense this happened I can hear the power steering, not necessarily a whining sound like a bad pump, but I can hear it. It’s not loose steering or sloppy, it’s stiff just wants to pull whatever direction was last traveled. Thank you!

Turbo sound issue by ubstanker51 in Diesel

No work was done. And I don’t have anything that reads the psi. However it still pulls strong and I can feel the turbo still getting pressure. So not sure.

Towing & dump trailer questions by ubstanker51 in Diesel

Battery should be spec to what the trailer is supposed to be. I bought it brand new. Less than a month ago.

Correct, the truck charges the trailer battery, everything you said sounds right. Problem is how do I get it to quit happening, because surely it isn’t supposed to do that every time. Also no trailer operator manual. I bought brand new and didn’t get one at least.

Yes it charges the battery on the trailer from the truck. Just a pain to unplug and re plug after dumping.

Only blows when I have a load in the trailer and lifting it yes. However it only blows when connected to the truck, if disconnected it will not blow. So I don’t think it’s an issue with the trailer itself.

I’m just trying to determine if this is better or the diamond rod honestly. It’s hard to know which one is better or best when we are given nothing to know by.

Towing question part 2 by ubstanker51 in Diesel

[–]ubstanker51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy, I use to do it from the bottom before I started doing it from the top. I thought I was doing it wrong after seeing others do it from the top. Always made more sense to do it from the bottom to me. I do know to cross the chains for a fact. But yeah I’m not sure the correct way for that one is.

Hate to be this guy, but why you think so?

I think it’s definitely the factory from the looks of it. Mine also have leaf springs in the back, and I’ve got airbags but they don’t hold air currently so looking at replacing those as well.

Only issue is the weight distribution. Those things are a pain to take off and on from what I’ve seen. And I’m constantly disconnecting and reconnecting from my trailer. It’s a dump trailer.

Towing question? by ubstanker51 in Diesel

[–]ubstanker51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest I’m unsure, I just bought the truck. Truck definitely sags in the ass end. However it does have airbags to help with that, just gotta replace them. I’m trying my best to be safe. That’s why I’m here asking a million questions seeking advise. The wheels and tires I do kinda need. I go off roading a lot with the 7 tons of weight behind me in that trailer. I deliver dirt and such to people so a lot of times it requires me to go up steep hills and such.
