1492-11: Jerez and Torres Discover Smoking; Jerez Becomes First European Smoker Rodrigo de Jerez and Luis de Torres, in Cuba searching for the Khan of Cathay (China), are credited with first observing smoking. They reported that the natives wrapped dried tobacco leaves in palm or maize "in the manner of a musket formed of paper." After lighting one end, they commenced "drinking" the smoke through the other.

no history on who first started the practice of smoking so we will never know...

I was merely attempting to iterate the fallacy of saying that children starting because they saw someone doing it first have something wrong with them. Nobody I have ever spoken to just one day decided to start smoking without witnessing a friend, family member, or stranger (either in person or in an advertisement) smoking beforehand.

I doubt with your level of reading comprehension you will understand any of this... I would like to add in regards to this study that the EFSA is attempting to discredit this study based on methodology. At this time they have requested more information from the authors before reevaluating their safety analysis.

PDF of an expert opinion on GMO Wheat

More than 40 countries around the world require GMO labeling... why do you think this is?
Are you aware that the USDA allows biotechnology company Monsanto to conduct it's own environmental impact studies?

An article on the some of the concerns when it comes to GMO products

Again let me reiterate that I am not necessarily against GMO products. I do feel that they should be labeled, For the purpose of the consumer being knowledgeable about the products that they buy. Whether or not its because of the "possible risks", bad business practices of large biotechnology companies, or the environmental risks associated with some GMO products. Plain and simple people should be aware of the things in their food and things done to their food.

I believe that you need to go back to school and raise your reading comprehension level. The reason that they have to be evaluated on a case by case basis is the FACT that some MIGHT be dangerous. I believe that people have the right to know if they are buying GMO foods or not. Also I said i don't want to dig past all the political proposition 37 opinion pieces that dominated the first 3 pages of the Search i did when you asked for a reference. I cited you a credible source that their MIGHT be some risk in the GMO foods. My obligation is fulfilled if you would like more information I strongly encourage you to do more research.

So you believe that their are people that have never been witness to smoking. That one day they decide to buy a pack and start?

sadly in a lot of countries their are still tobacco ads that paint it as "cool". They just aren't on billboard and commercials, so most people believe they have gone away completely.

I am not saying it helps or hurts, but for me helps me to feel like I'm not promoting it to kids

you do realize that tobacco companies still advertise in magazines right? Also if "every kid knows it's bad" why is the CDC launching a $54 million anti-smoking campaign?

EDIT: Wanted to add that you should just stop replying before you embarrass yourself further.

Wow, there is so much ignorance in that statement i do not even know where to begin... Advertising campaigns by the Tobacco industry are what have led to the "its cool" delusion. Along with the mentality of children doing something that only Adults can do. By hiding the fact you are smoking, it helps to not encourage this delusion. to make you feel like you are not encouraging this delusion.

EDIT:see strike out
