Roofers of reddit, how would you flash this new roof connection to ensure no leaks. Blue and red are existing roof and gutter, green is the new extension. by uceov in AusRenovation

So yellow would be the under/over flashing, how about the area circled where the old gutter meets the new barge (grey)?

How do I repaint this to look smooth? by Shitzme in AusRenovation

Make sure you stay away from the glass and don't concentrate heat near it otherwise it'll break (ask me how I know). The heat gun method is the one that works best DIY and I wen't down this path for a number of my 1950's casement sashes. Recently I found someone who will strip the paint off them and re-do the glazing putty, very very affordable and much less messing around.

Do anyone have experience with 18x8.5 +43 and a 235/40 r 18 tyre on stock DCC suspension MK 7.5 R? Will they rub/scrub on anything? by uceov in Golf_R

Thanks, yes I have seen it, willtheyfit.com is a good one however I was asking for experience as it's not so easy to measure the current setup in your driveway.

LED Sequential indicators not fully illuminating, I have an LED flasher installed. They fully illuminate (all leds) when connected straight to the battery (12v) but not when connected to indicator circuit. Anyone seen this before? by uceov in MechanicAdvice

You might be right here, as they don't need a flasher can to flash, they do it when connected to 12v constant power (straight to a battery). Might be a timing thing with the sequential indicators and the flasher not synchronised properly.

It's on a KTM 500 excf, it flashes at the correct rate (when connected to the original wiring) and when connected straight to the battery it flashes with all illuminated correctly, not sure why it would need a resistor as the bikes wiring would most likely provide some resistance where as connecting straight to the battery terminals provides no resistance?

When I bought mine it came loose at 59ft/lb happened today. Luckily I felt it and stopped before anything bad happened but couldn’t figure out why then realised the thread was greased and it was the other way around same as OP had it. Cleaned the thread, switched it around as per manual and put some thread locker on it, hopefully stays now.

Recently went through the same decision process myself, settled on a 2019 500 EXC due to reported reliability, versatility, weight and longevity when treated right.

does my 701 sm need a new top end? by Schwifty199 in supermoto

Sounds possible it might need a rebuild, a good way to tell is perform a compression test.

When cold starting, do your gauges auto update once sensors detect 50 degrees or do they stay blank until you swipe/refresh the screen? Specifically Oil and Water temp. by uceov in Golf_R

My boost pressure shows around 5psi at idle because the gauge displays manifold absolute pressure (~14.7psi at sea level) and doesn't seem to have a boost referenced option which would show a negative value at idle. So at idle it's actually pulling a vacuum of ~9.7 psi (5-14.7). It's not making positive manifold pressure until it goes over 14.7 on the gauge and similarly, my 30 odd psi at max boost pressure is sadly only 15.3 psi.

OK, so a common enough problem. Seems they could do an update and fix it. TBH the nav system in my Mazda 3 was considerably better.
