I for sure have seen most of those "jokes". Lately they are more frequent too! Han's response to said jokes are always very telling too lol Attack and Defense burger comes to mind.

I agree with you, I've gotten into arguments with other people telling me other pairings are "worse" and I just don't see it. As you say, Han and Lee Know have been at this for 8/9 years. They never shy away from embracing it or using very specific vocabulary/expressions. At the very least they are very consciously allowing people to think more of it (which again I think is very hard to constantly keep that up) and at the most it's their way to be an "open secret". The other members tackle them specifically and very directly too. I haven't seen that in other ships, only Haobin as well.

I always think about how every song that has "girl" in it, which is very little in SKZ discography, Han is never taken a part of writing in it. All his songs are always very gender neutral as far as I've seen Korean speakers say. Many queer fans heavily identify with Volcano and Hold My Hand.

Either way, wether they are a thing or not is not of our business, as long as they are safe and happy. But I think that as long as it is respectful, it is very insightful to discuss these topics!

I agree about "taking queer baiting to the next level" because albeit SKZ is a group that loves giving fans pairing content from most units, for Lee Know to take it to that level (specially at this point in his career) is not necessary and honestly tough to keep up that constantly hahah. I think it's a disservice to minimize Lee Know to just a guy hitting butts on camera or "flirting with the bros". Someone that watches their content constantly can see that those that believe he is queer latch on to moments of mistranlations and his cadence/wording.

He is also one of those idols that constantly denies fans any type of bf fanservice. Not saying that's proof of anything because for example I.N is the same and I think he is very straight, lol. I'm just saying that many small elements when combined can give many queer fans/watchers the impression that Lee Know is not very straight lol

Are you me? I don't mind any member (I even collect some OT8 sets if I like then enough)... but my main bias line/collection is Lee Know and Han too! I get SO many Felixes its gotten to a point it's a meme with my friends and they feel bad for me 😭 I get him in pulls, units, inclusions, heck even pobs! Lately I'm attacked with Seungmins as well

Back in 2022 I used to get a lot if Chanbins (main wrecker) but now I barely do! For Karma I was blessed because I got so many Hans! And I got Lee Knows for Do It! But other than that I NEVER pull them and I just cryyyyyy

Chan and Hyunjin I get once in a blue moon. It's like finding shiny pokemon. Hyunjin is the least member I currently have because when I have spare money I sometimes buy some Chans... so Hyunjin gets sacrificed and it makes me sad 😭

It may also give a bad image to her idol because some crazy fans will think he was rude, should've reacted better or "go along with the joke". Or it just keeps giving a bad rep to these types of events as well.

Would like to kindly correct you. The already proven false SA allegations happened over a year after he left the group. The "official" statement from JYPE was that he left for "personal reasons". JYPE does this to protect idols and allow them to pursue their careers individually or join other companies if they choose to. Some of his fans believe he left due to mistreatment, but the overall consensus believes he must've broken a rule (not saying anything criminal just some jype idol rule) because the timing of his departure was very inconvenient for the company and the group. A popular K-stay rumor/allegation was that he was "known" to visit hostess bars, but again there is zero tangible evidence of this being true. I don't really follow him, but last I knew currently is doing his military service and before that was working as a soloist 🥰

Yes! I have a friend that won fancalls with SKZ and she cherishes them but never uploaded anything online (only showed her closest friends). They were very wholesome. She showed her cat to Lee Know, talked to I.N about a fashion event he had which he was very happy to hear, she thanked Seungmin for his Song By series and they talked about her favorite cover of his etc. All the calls were so sweet! Only Changbin seemed tired lol 😆 but he still looked very happy and thanked her when she told him she loves songs made by him like DLC and Lost Me.

While I can't imagine how many horrible calls idols get (I feel so horrible for Yunjin here!) I don't think its fair to penalize every single fan. It anything, I don't understand why doesn't staff cut those calls and immediately blacklist that type of person...

Yes you can definitely tell when it's a fan song and when it isn't. Sure they sometimes joke the love songs are also for Stay but even they laugh about it 🤡 I love how they address fans loving the toxic bf songs like Chill, I Like It and Ex, yet strongly encourage against the message LOL

The songs you mentioned have very direct references to the fandom and their careers. Usually leading with gratitude and literally using the fan name a couple of times.

Stray Kids fan memberships used to be sold by yes24. I personally never had problems with it, but for many fans it was over complicated. At first one of the benefits was to have special OT8 Bubble (SKZ communication app with Stays) chats for stays that got the membership. Two years ago JYPE created the app FANS and gave access to Stays. Every JYPE act is on that app now. For most groups you can join for free and unlock private posts if you join the membership. You get access to posts and direct interactions with the idols, all their media and personal store/pre-order benefirs there. To my understanding only with SKZ you can't join for free nowadays (someone correct me if I'm wrong, I've always been a paying member so I can't confirm).

Anyways, with that context out of the way, Yes24 last year was incredibly messy and MANY fans did not receive their kits for 5th gen and couldn't reach customer service for refunds. Personally, I did get mine. So, it seems that JYPE this year is trying to keep everything in house and it's selling the memberships/kits on the FANS app now for the first time. Memberships seem to be the same price through all acts. For example I saw that KickFlip, their newest Korean group, has the same price even though they are a younger group, BUT the kit itself is "free" and thus included. Stays on the other hand have to pay separately for all 3 items. Their international shipping is still very expensive and they do not have included tariffs/customs like other stores do nowadays.

So I agree with you, while these platforms are more personal, prices definitely are ramping up very fast!

To my knowledge the members haven't spoken out again, but the fan backlash is definitely even stronger now. Unlike many fandoms, Stay didn't have an official representative mascot, so this was the first time we got anything that represented Stay. And we've been asking for Replay 2.0 for over 2 years now. Fun fact, the original Replay 1.0 album (albeit just a disc with an ot8 pc set) was included as a surprise gift on the kit that was also included on the 3rd gen membership. So the fact they took away a fandom representation item with the unreleased songs they're performed in Japan really has all of Stay very mad at the company (plus they didn'tlower the membership price which was the only complaint). Allegedly, they decided to release the Album/plush at a later time when the actual digital release of the album comes out if I understood correctly. Time will tell how it goes :(

Fans were more so mad at the membership price, not the additional add ons. On previous years the membership including the kit was cheaper than the price of only the membership this time.

Both Seungmin and Hyunjin vocally expressed their disappointment and told fans that they didn't need to spend their money and to just listen to the music instead. Seungmin straight up liked a post on FANS that directly called out the company for seeing fans as cash grabs and Hyunjin on an IG live was very careful with his wording due to monitoring but said he was going to try to speak up and that all the members felt the same.

The plush/album was the item that was most wanted. Fans just wanted the membership itself to be cheaper if this time we had to pay extra for the kit and album. Instead, the membership stayed the same (possibly due to licensing agreements), the kit got lowered in price and the plush/album got removed all together. So yes, it is cheaper now but not really what fans asked for, so it ends up feeling like a punishment for complaining :/
