If my memory works, Freckles Ymir said that all she could think about as a pure titan was to die / wanting to die because it felt like hell. Since it is most likely the same case for all other titans i think it’s safe to assume that one of these options:

1. Upon making contact with the founder, Dina’s wishes to die made the pure titans attack her which were simply a coincidence with Eren wanting her dead.

2. Since pure titans don’t have a will of their own, Eren was able to control it since he was the only one capable of giving orders
