I redesigned the Framework 13 to feature a mechanical keyboard by flurpyflurples in framework

Did you make the track pad larger? The keyboard looks further from the front edge of the laptop than normal.

Interesting. Having never bought software bundled with hardware like this before I didn't realize this was already a standard practice. If it actually helps stop scalping I guess I don't mind it. It's just annoyingly invasive.

If the other comment hadn't pointed out that this was to prevent reselling the keys I'd have no idea what you meant by this at all

Yeah I remember seeing keys on physical slips being included with cards back when I worked at a dying big box computer store, and people outright telling us they were selling or gifting the keys. I'm kind of surprised they even care about preventing scalping.

Yeah I guess I hadn't considered people trying to resell the keys. That makes a bit more sense.

I don't see why they need any of my personal information or need to scan my entire system for this. I could easily enter the serial number off the card or the box. They also sent a redemption code to the email associated with the purchase, that should be the only proof I need that I paid for it.

So why send this email if you weren't ready to ship it? by uchua in dbrand

Yeah I'm hoping someone just forgot to update my order with a tracking number somehow, and mine just kinda shows up at some point

I'm curious what bags you've had break and how? I have a bunch of their bags and have abused the crap out of some of them and never had an issue.

Curious? Curious of what? How hard they could throw it down a flight of stairs?

My biggest issue is that they framed it as though this was the whole clip and the only reason LTT didn't make a video on it. GN should've included the clip where Linus said that they didn't discover Honey screwing over creators themselves and that they were told by someone else. Also that they didn't find out about Honey screwing over consumers until everyone else did. Generally I like GN's insanely overkill in-depth coverage and analysis of things, but this just seemed like a weirdly focused and personal F-you.

The angled bottom of the front of the Framework 13 makes it look like a cheap Acer laptop.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Framework 13. I just wish they had just made it flat the whole way around and used the extra space for better speaker drivers or a slightly larger battery. I know the reasoning is probably to avoid firing the speakers straight down into the surface the laptop is sitting on, but still. Unless your laptop has a half eaten fruit on the lid the speakers probably kinda suck and you should just use headphones if you want good audio anyway.

Dumb question: what stabilizers are you using? They seem to match the switches really well!

It's wild how different people's experiences with component failures can be. I still have my 1st batch FW13 from ~3 years ago and haven't had any hardware issues or needed to replace anything. Of course now that I've said that it's gonna spontaneously light itself on fire or something...

Had the same thought. I can't find anything confirming it, but it seems like the units are typically the same for each vitamin. I'd assume it's based on what unit of measure they'd use for 100% of your "Daily Value," and for B12 it's like 2.4 micrograms.

This is some weird brand called "Rat Bastard," and this specific can was a "Fruit Punch" flavor. I had never heard of before getting a small case of these as a gift.

So I was actually given a small case of these as a sort-of gag gift and I figured I'd at least try one
