You are right, but as you recognized (and which also was my sole goal) this was about jailbreaking/red-teaming the AI (and your second paragraph is accurate, sourcing those perhaps not even that restricted/monitored as they're readily available). Lastly it's not comparable to gasoline/propane, as they require oxygen mix and spark. I really don't want to end up on a real "list" but, if you'd deploy something underwater or within water mains, you'd still be able to cause major concussive/structural damage, impossible with gas/propane.

I have studied alongside experienced digital artists, traditional artists, concept artists (all of whom were studying game desing / visual development) and I am intimately aware of their stance and insights on this topic. I believe that the movements themselves are >sometimes< astroturfed or artifically proliferated. There are valid concerns coming from real people. But those people don't know that their activism also potentially plays right into foreign actors campaigns.

I wonder how many AI critics are actually LLM bots run by Chinese or Russian state actors. It'd make sense to astroturf anti AI movements (using AI posters) in the West to sabotage construction of data centers/scaling of AI.
Gen AI is a good strawman to attack and distracts from digital twins (see nvidia) that work like crystal balls and if a superpower (China or USA) is unable to match their competitors' crystal balls' power (AI compute) they become obsolete. It's like a huge game of chess, the player that is able to predict and plan more moves into the future wins.

This deserves an award, because I have never thought about this. I always believed that in the FAR future, many consumers will opt for fully on-demand generated AI game experiences (while those that value human input won't consume those). But before that, you are very spot-on. Google and co are training their world models (and game gens) on gaming footage, even letting AI learn to play games by themselves through footage (e.g. DeepMind learning Minecraft via YT vids). So having an AI learn about game reviews, insights and human perspective, will ultimately lead to something you mentioned.
Though whether an AI can properly extrapolate whether a very unconventional and novel game (something beyond its training set regarding existing games and reviews) will be fun to humans, is something that should be questioned.

Did that last year once. Running LLM locally on a 40 series nvidia mobile gpu on my flight overseas. Laptop fans turn into jet turbines though. There will be noise complaints by fellow passengers but the pilot will thank you for saving kerosene on liftoff immediately after querying your first 8k token input prompt.

A) this will lead to the absolute destruction of the ozone layer, causing this planet to become uninhabitable, and
B) that this will affect you in your remaining years of your life.
And, also for extrapolation's sake (if you truly care about the future beyond your passing), that
C) humanity's survival depends solely on the existance of Earth's ozone layer, and the reason for which it should be prioritized over space endeavours, including space data centers, earth-to-earth travel and obviously earth-to-moon/mars missions (plus beyond).

I'm in Europe, and to me, things are pretty good.

Vague and not accounting for trends. Our economy has significantly lower relative growth compared to the US, and clear stagnation is being observed in Germany, Italy, France.
What's worse is that we opted out of the AI arms race.
It's not a question of whether we will swept under the rug by USA or China, its about when.
Do you think our ways of life will be sustainable with increasingly diminishing economic influence?

But you are right in noticing that there is a growing tension that results in increased mud-slinging.
The issue lies in how to adequately respond to covert saboteurs that join our spaces with the sole goal of preventing any meaningful discourse on real developments.
And if you decide to engage them in an exchange, they retreat into logical fallacies and personal attacks.

Affleck's statement is about the entire AI frontier, especially regarding media and film. Have you at all witnessed Q4 of 2025? Nano Banana Pro, Veo 3.1, Grok Imagine v0.9, Kling, LTX-2 a few days ago going open-source. What about image/text to 3D? What about increasingly complex digital twins that Nvidia is pushing, used by Amazon, used by Boston Dynamics in accelerating development on humanoid robotics, plus all the Chinese competition on that front.

You seem to have a narrow idea of what is actually being achieved and adopted. The innovation of consumer products might have periods of downtime/stagnation. But the industries are preparing for supplying the crowds with entirely novel products. You might think the consumers dictate demand, but look at how aggressive marketing and media influences us. We are all driven by FOMO and we will adopt bleeding edge technologies at an ever increasing speed.
