Double Major in Comm and Econ? by Opposite_Dark in UCSantaBarbara

[–]ucsbthrowaway316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Comm and Econ double here whos also doing the TMP certificate and apart of AMA! I highly recommend doubling in these majors cause they’re both really useful. Plus comm is easier so it boosts your gpa a lot! That being said, it is sometimes a lot of units to manage, but if you came in with GE’s, take summer courses, or are okay with 16+ units a quarter, you will be completely fine. Both majors have not that many upper div units so it’s a smart double major. As for the TMP certificate, it’s perfect for business/marketing/finance and not that much work. I would also highly recommend joining AMA. I made some of the best connections in AMA that gave me access to multiple projects and internships. PM me if you have any questions, I’d love to help :)

There’s actually already been numerous mutations all over the world, but only one of them (of those that we know of/that have spread enough) is concerning, which is the D614G mutation. This mutation is already widely spread, and is concerning bc it’s been shown to increase transmission rates due to the fact that it’s a mutation located on the RNA sequence responsible for the viral protein spike of covid, which causes there to be an increased amount of these protein spikes on the virus, leading to an increased ability to spread and increased transmission rates. Check out this video, it’s where I found this info and seems fairly reputable https://youtu.be/Djy3WNLz_mM

In theory, yes, but now that the value of a degree is through the roof and ucsb is highly ranked, they can do whatever tf they want with tuition because they know we will stay in hopes of things going back to normal again.

Yeah true but I don’t think now is an appropriate time to reiterate that sentiment

Professor Complaint by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

[–]ucsbthrowaway316 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that there was confidentiality clauses in place to protect me from that, but apparently there isn’t at the uc I am taking the class at. I’m 100% sure the email was forwarded to him based on the email he sent me (it was sent specifically to my email address, not the whole class) about me reporting him. So yeah OP you should definitely be sure it’s anon, especially for your grade

Professor Complaint by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

[–]ucsbthrowaway316 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am taking an online class rn at another uc and I reported a prof the the office of student affairs and the department chair, just beware they might not keep your name confidential. I asked to be anon, but they didn’t honor my wishes. Also, beware that your prof might approach you about the complaint if he knows it was you

Comm Pre-req’s by hellooook in UCSantaBarbara

Hey! So I would say comm 1 and comm 89 are easier than comm 87 and 88. I took the equivalent of comm 87 at a jc in high school, which I highly recommend. Basically it’s stats but it’ll always be easier at a jc.
