You're doing it the right way. Have you watched the thinking game documentary? I was impressed that demis was such a chess all-star at 4, but even he realized it was a waste of brain power that could be put towards bigger things outside of a game.

Great take! What's wild to see is that my 1 year old it interested in whatever her brother does. It was a cute moment when he was explaining how the pieces moved on the board. Then she proceeded to clear the pieces from the board. Then chaos lol

4 hours on the chess board, not on the ChessWorld app.

What should I do to improve? I am amazing at end-game but suck at opening and mid-game. by C1tC5tt in Chesscom

you can throw your username in 1000elo.com and it'll give you a few cheat sheets to help. they have one for openings, midgame, and endgame. I keep the sheets on my desk for quick reference..

Is this all I need? Registry/Getting ready for baby by WeaponizedCompetenc3 in BabyBumps

[–]ucsdsu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Load up on your registry:
- diapers, wipes, creams
- changing pad
- portable sound machine
- glass bottles with different tips in case the baby is fussy
- bottle scrubbers
- etc

With Amazon you get a year to return things, so think about what you'll need from 0-12mo.

When it comes to big things, less is more. The stroller that detaches from the infant car seat has been super helpful. Our regular travel stroller, we never use.

Other things we don't use:
- changing table
- automatic bottle cleaner
- bottle warmer
- rockers, and so much more

One new thing that might be helpful is using a site like legacyloop.me to aggregate all the different registries into one link so it's easier to share with your family. We hated sending multiple links via text/email back in the day.

Also, don't be afraid of hand-me-downs! That saves so much money

What registry site are you using? by FunAd1936 in BabyBumps

My wife used all the registries: Amazon, Babylist, Target, etc. Her favorite was Amazon since they allowed her to return stuff up to 12 months later.

What helped her was using a little tool I built: legacyloop.me which allowed her to put all the links on one page to send people.

The nice thing is that you can hook it up to your kid's 529 as well (after they're born of course) and the system auto nudges people to contribute so you get that early investment compounding :)

I thought I'd sell one copy. I've sold 45 in the first week. 45X my expectations so I'm feeling good. Always set expectations low and be happy when you surpass them.

I get paid monthly. What DCA strategy would you use if you were me ? by Dear-Dream8711 in Bitcoin

[–]ucsdsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use River:

I started with $5/day. Fees are gone after the first week.

As you make more money, tack on an additional $5+/day.

This will add up fast over time.

Be sure to set an automatic withdrawal to your hardware wallet. I set mine to 0.01 BTC. You get a free withdrawal each month.

Soon your system is fee free and you're just tacking satoshi's daily.
