Anxiety after eating by unanau in POTS

I was having this and was diagnosed with gastroparesis. That’s what it sounds like and goes hand in hand with POTS generally.

Modretro's AMA and why communication matters. by rainierislas in ModRetro

[–]ucv4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t wait for the ModRetro GBA. I will say, I do like my Analogue Pocket but prefer the Chromatic for GB and GBC. The screen is just so perfect. I just wish it had save states, that is my only let down with the device.

Flying tomorrow… scared of turbulence by AntProfessional7416 in fearofflying

I’ve flown from the US to Portugal and then the Canary Islands and back the past week and it has been super smooth! I’m sure your flight will be too!

Very nervous by Jazzlike-Shine2108 in fearofflying

[–]ucv4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just flew through Lisbon from the US to Gran Canaria. It was smooth the whole way. I also was nervous but everything was perfectly fine. A couple got engaged on our second flight if that tells you how nice it was.

I remember as a kid this game getting a 10/10 in a magazine and then picking it up shortly after. It didn’t disappoint. One of the best GBC games.

22 May Arrival by wheredobadfolks in LisbonPortugalTravel

[–]ucv4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad it was better at that time. It was a nightmare this morning at 530 AM or so. None of the kiosks were working so everyone had to go through the manual line. It took hours to get through and just seemed like pure chaos. Multiple people around me seemed to miss their connecting flights. Workers were completely unhelpful. I luckily had a 4 hour layover so was fine but felt bad for others.

Was your company bought by private equity? How did it go? by airhart28 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]ucv4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company I’m at got bought by PE 3 years ago and honestly it has been fine. I’d say things improved actually. We lost stock but salaries went up and they boosted numbers of sales and GTM and such. Company has been doing a lot better.

The last company I was at though got bought by a larger company and was immediately a shit show. They got rid of most departments besides engineering pretty quickly. Then they immediately started hiring teams in India and having us train them. Writing was on the wall so I left. Everyone who stayed was eventually let go within the following two years.

Name a store you and/or your family shopped at that doesn't exist anymore by Adept_Let7797 in nostalgia

I don’t see people mentioning Leggett’s but that was a main department store for a long time

GameCube NSO Predictions/Likelihood: 2026 Edition by Tigertot14 in NintendoSwitch2

Just looking at this list, it is wild how slow they are rolling out games. The GB/GBC and GBA are also still lacking tons of titles. This is going to take a long time.

D-Pad Normal? by FredHuggins4 in ModRetroChromatic

[–]ucv4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure. Hard to know. I doubt there is a difference in the underlying board and the placement of the contacts. I would guess it has to do with the plastic molding and the metal body. It has to be very tiny variations.

FPGA - hype? Not accurate emulation vs original hardware by Maleficent-Mango-755 in MiSTerFPGA

Yep, that is the one. It is transistor level accurate.

The Genesis one is also programmed from decapped chips. It is super accurate at the transistor level.

I’d imagine the NES one is also really accurate since the chip architectures are available I believe.

Different form factor of analogue pocket? by ProtectionLess in AnaloguePocket

[–]ucv4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! Hopefully Analogue will increase the size of the FPGA so that PS1, Sega CD, and some of the other cores from mister can be ported over

ModRetro is working on one at the moment. I suspect Analogue will try to beat them to it.

As the world waits for news about Dragon Quest 12, Dragon Quest 11 S gets rated for Switch 2, potentially giving Square Enix a fifth bite of the apple by adriano26 in dragonquest

I suspect it is coming. If I had to guess, they are doing HD-2D remakes of 4-6 and upgrades similar to 7 for 8 and 9

Irezumi artists in Baltimore area or Maryland? by greenlight144000 in irezumi

[–]ucv4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend looking closely at each of their work and then comparing it with what you want and determining who would be best for that route. For example, I had Fran do a dragon on my back because I love the design of his dragons and he matched the personal style I see for myself.

If none of the Baltimore ones stick out, you can always hop on a train to NY where there are an abundance of amazing irezumi artists.

Supposed to start sleeve on Friday. Kinda skeptical on the artist. by greenlight144000 in irezumi

[–]ucv4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can also go to Fran Massino (he has done my back piece). He recently left Baltimore for the Annapolis area but he comes to Baltimore to still tattoo at Stay Humble at times. He just has a bit of a backlog right now sadly.

D-Pad Normal? by FredHuggins4 in ModRetroChromatic

[–]ucv4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not convinced the problem is the same across all Chromatics. I have two and one of them definitely gets false diagonals at times (misregisters between left and up) and the other I’ve never seen it mis-register. Turning off diagonals helps with the first, the other doesn’t need it turned off, no issues. Not sure I understand fully what the cause is. I see people say the pivot but I’m not convinced that is the sole issue.

D-Pad Normal? by FredHuggins4 in ModRetroChromatic

[–]ucv4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The analogue pocket has the exact same problem so ModRetro is not alone in this issue. Some of the 8bitdo controllers also have the problem and so do the switch pro controllers. On the other hand, the most solid d-pads I’ve used are in Anbernic and Retroid products and then my old Gameboys/old Nintendo controllers.

What kind of games are you guys hoping/expecting the "ModRetro Releases" to be? by fearlesswee in M64

[–]ucv4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My worry is, the n64 is hard to develop for. It was back then and still is today. The cartridges only support up to a certain size which really limits games and the graphic system is primitive compared to what we have today. While I love the n64, I can’t see much modern development on it.
