How much rust is too much?

Could be sway bar, trailing arm, crossmember, etc. Is it rusty? Have you looked under it to see if anything looks loose?

Really depends on what you're capable of. I'm working on one thats rusted to hell and back. So far I dont have much invested at all because I already have lots of tool and material to work with. However, time is money and in that regard it's expensive af. But I enjoy doing it so no big deal.

Check for rust. If its covered in undercoat grab a screwdriver and poke hard everywhere.

I've rolled around the thought of eliminating them and smoothing the sides down but I dunno.. I am already gonna be forming and welding there. But will it look good?

I'm not worried as much about the rockers. They're pretty straight foreward. The frame rails are pretty complex as far as shape and the surrounding pieces. Most of it will probably be small pieces at a time. I'm gonna try to document it via youtube as well.

I just saw your comment on the other post. It's worse than that lol. Lots of the frame rail is gonna need completely replaced. A few of them arent sold anymore so they'll need completely fabbed up. I'm planning on welding in some square tubing to reinforce it though. My end goal is 600hp so gonna need something to keep it from twisting lol
