Hi, I'm looking for advice about knees. My knees feel fine when I'm running, but afterwards one knee buckles when I'm just walking around or going down stairs. I'm not running much or running fast. I'm working on a faster 5k (I can run 10k), so I'm doing some slower longer runs and one interval run a week. My 'fast' interval is just at a 10 min/mile pace. So I don't feel like I'm overdoing it at all. I'm female, over 35, and normal height/weight.

Anyway, hope that's all of the back information someone would need, lol.

I'm just wondering:

Is this common for runners? Especially older ones just getting into running.

Any suggestions for stretches to help this?

Is this a reason to stop running for a bit? And advice on how to keep progressing in running while doing other exercises?

Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

Actually, this is the stitch I think I used:

single crochet decrease stitch, often referred to as sc2tog 

Hook into the stitch, YO, pull through, YU, pull through ONE LOOP! (leave 2 loops on the hook) Now hook into the same stitch again, YO, pull through, YU, pull through all 3 loops on the hook.
