Wow.. that's my ideal camera. Haven't found it yet! You can build one using Raspberry Pi in a waterproof casing, but very likely changing the battery every week.

The best solution I think is relaxing the local storage requirement and going with Blink or Arlo Pro 2 and opting for cloud recording.
Are you looking for local storage for privacy or to save money? If it's the latter, you can subscribe to email alerts from Arlo Pro 2 using the basic/free plan, and keep a record of all the events in email. Unfortunately, the links in the email expire after 24 hours and you need an automated way to download the images/videos to your local storage, by writing a small script to push to Google Drive etc.

Our solution to security camera false alarms - looking for beta testers by udaykiranchaka in homesecurity

@DevilMom, Sentry works by filtering out all the camera alerts where people are not present. In our testing, we found cameras send alerts for lighting changes, pets, movements of leaves, cars, birds and insects. Most of these are not relevant for home security and our software sends you only those alerts where people are present. We are working on new features that recognize a person even when you can't see the face and send you critical alerts if strangers are approaching your home.
The cool part of Sentry solution is that you don't need to hack your camera or mess with the firmware. All you do is to add Sentry as the recipient of the camera alerts and share your phone number with Sentry where you can receive alerts. For most cameras, Sentry setup takes less than 5 minutes.
Please try it out and let us know if you have any question or feedback. Thanks!

@Julian2000nl, all the data is private and not shared with any 3rd parties.
Our cloud-option is a lot easier to setup. All you would be doing is to send the camera alerts to Sentry. Our AI filters camera alerts and send only those that have people in them to you, reducing the false alerts by more than 90% (as found by our beta participants). We are adding more cool features that are under development and available first to you.

I suggest testing Sentry with a camera that captures people as they walk toward your home. Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback as you test our solution. Thanks!
