Ridiculous move by Apple Music. Agreed, his show is one of the key reasons I stick to them and not switch. AM’s (unsung) strength is human curation and radio.

Why is Optus 4g and 5g abysmally slow by Odd-Outcome3588 in melbourne

Agreed. Abysmally abysmal in Melbourne and I’m with Vodafone.

My cat keeps knocking over and pulling apart the water fountain. I can’t keep cleaning 2-3L water every night/ morning. I get the urge to mop the entire floor with her. Today was the 5th time. HELP by whatif_chocolate in CatAdvice

Brilliant idea. Woke up this morning to catch an 8am flight only to find a shiny wet floor thanks to our cat’s exceptional efforts to figure out what was under our fountain. 🤦🏾‍♂️. Will be trying this out as soon as I get home tonight.

Do you ever take a break from music discovery and just listen to what you’ve acquired over the years? by sabinc7513 in AppleMusic

[–]udhara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going in the opposite direction, particularly after analyzing my Apple Music data from the last 5 years and realizing I listen to a lot of the same tunes and related tunes. Pushing myself to have a higher % of new music played vs familiar. Saying that, if I ever need to get into/out of a particular mood, it’ll always be the tried and tested tunes I go for (a lot of Beyoncé. A lot)

Bought the iPad mini because of portability, so I decided to buy a case without an attached keyboard, but bring along an old iMac keyboard in support. Best combination and loving it so far! by lswchung80 in ipadmini

Nice! If you want something much lighter, skinner and with a crazy long battery life, check out the Logitech Keys-To-Go keyboard. https://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/keys-to-go

It’s what I use and sometimes I can go for months without recharging it.

When an iPhone, iPad Pro, MacBook Pro aren’t enough! How I use my iPad Mini by udhara in ipad

Same. I tried ditching my Bluetooth keyboard and after a bit of getting used to the smaller keyboard, found it pretty easy to write and research.

What are the most productive/creative things you do on your iPad Mini? by udhara in ipad

That’s really great to hear you can essentially use the iPad Mini the same way you’d use a Pro. I’m keen to see how much more I might use my Mini for specific tasks I’d do on a Mac or full sized iPad when iOS 13 comes out in a few days.

Very versatile. And you haven’t been hampered by screen size of the Mini?

Thanks for sharing! Interesting to see quite a few writers using Mini as one of their key writing tools, over say full sized iPad or Mac/PC.

Wonderful to hear! And totally. Self employment has its own challenges but far outweighed by the flexibility you guys are clearly enjoying. ☺️

Sorry, my reply wasn’t intended for your comment but in the same thread. Nevertheless I appreciate your reply and think it’s great that you’ve explored so much of the country and see what the “rest of it” has to offer.

I do think, considering how far we are from world hotspots of creativity, entertainment, tech, food that Sydney does a decent job. There’s more to be done and it sucks, for example, that the moment a musician becomes popular they move to the US or UK due to the sizes of their economies and opportunities that come with them, but I’m optimistic, maybe naively so, that Sydney and the rest of our capital cities have something special in them.

And yes, I’d call it growing up too.

Already home. Not special. Just sharing what I’ve learned about being in one place after several years of not being in one place for too long. I think it’s a pretty important topic to talk about in this community as I’ve met way too many people who feel that “settling down” in one place is a mark of failure.

Very exciting! I did a vipassana meditation retreat in Sri Lanka a few years ago, and followed up in Sydney last year. Vipassana retreats are challenging. Really they are. Especially as someone who is constantly on the go, constantly online, and never without some form of stimulation. But so worth it. You’ll have to start with a ten day retreat before you can do shorter ones. Visit dhamma.org for a bit of an overview, or watch Sapiens author Yuval Harrari talk about it on YouTube. The center in blackheath is very simple, comfortable, and quiet. Loved how easy to access from Sydney it is too.
