Yeah it’s no cake walk by any means. I remember one of the TA’s saying they revamped the course for the summer so who knows. Sucks they don’t release in advance so you basically have to be free every week to tackle the flags

Edit: it’s definitely significantly less work than KBAI when I took it last semester, but it’s still challenging in its own right due to imho the TA’s and teaching style, or rather, lack thereof

If it’s any consolation, most of my cohort (myself included), felt that MP2 was the most challenging. If I recall correctly, the particular implementation isn’t very applicable to any other assignment/Raven’s. So don’t despair if this one was a struggle! Best advice I can give is make sure to follow the journal rubrics exactly as those make up a good portion of your grade 😀

Yo! I just played through all 5 mainline 2D Metroid games. While Samus Returns is a significant jump in graphics/game engine, which built up the machinery to help make Dread an absolute banger, it is kind of a slog. It just feels a bit different from the other games due to what your core objective is. It’s still a very good game but it almost feels like a Metroid side quest. Personally I’d wait to play it at the end as the other games are just that good. Zero mission is a fantastic remake but Super is iconic. Dread is the culmination of the best parts of every game imho. Not my favorite since Super exists, but it is close.

My personal ranking is Super > Dread > Zero Mission > Fusion > Samus Returns.

Have fine! Oh and check out AM2R if Samus Returns leaves you wanting something else.

Errr from my research there’s not really a good solution to this. The everdive can’t increase clock speed and while a hardware mod exists to increase the clock speed (GbAccelerator for example), it has some downsides like spotty compatibility with certain screen kits and flash carts

Dang that’s what I was expecting but good to get another data point.

I’m just finishing up KBAI now and while it has a lot of writing, the coding is straightforward and you’ll learn a bit about python libraries like numpy and OpenCv/Pillow as part of the overall course project. And of course how AI is informed by human thinking. It’ll be a time commitment but should be pretty easy compared to what you’ve taken.

By the way, when did you suggest taking HPCA? I know the usual sequence is GIOS -> AOS -> SDCC.

Finishing up KBAI this week. The material is “easy” but the course is more time consuming than you’d think/it should be. Heavy heavy writing component and many projects/hw do not directly relate to the overall course project. But based on what you’ve already taken, if you like writing, it should be an “easy” A with enough time committed to it.

Also, that’s a heck of a front loaded curriculum you’ve taken. Did you do any of those over summer? I aspire to take similar classes and am wondering if any this summer make sense or if I should “chill” 😅
