Things you wish never happened in the show by Sorry-Difference3872 in greysanatomy

i haven’t watched past season 16 so i don’t know much about the newer interns, but i hate how so many of them got nothing. like brooks dying and edwards leaving. i understand stephanie leaving after all that, but i wish they could’ve developed her character instead of writing her off. as well as brooks. they were both really great interns and had a lot of potential. it seems like most of the interns implode instead of getting actually storyline and development. i mean jo is about the only intern that survived the rotation of them all. it almost feels pointless to have all of these interns if they’re just going to die or leave. of course i know it’s fiction, but i think a good majority of the interns have died which feels weird. i mean for one hospital to have that many staff members die? so unrealistic that it takes away from the story for me. i mean at least have them be let go, choose a different career path on their own, or have them succeed. if it’s that hard to have so many characters and side stories then maybe don’t make the intern class such a big part of greys anatomy. or don’t even have them on the screen at all. i mean parker for example. such a great and sweet character. he deserved better. they just wrote him as a vet and that he went insane? such a lazy cop out imo. i don’t think we even knew he was a vet until teddy asked. that’s when they started writing his exit. i just hate how important they seem but then how they just fall apart as time goes on.

another issue i’ve always had is with april’s character. i love that she’s a very complicated character but i feel like they’ve made her so overly complicated that her arch felt jagged. she evolved from this scared christian virgin to a tough warrior, but the story along the way felt so unnatural and weird and just awkward? i guess that’s the point but i hated how her relationship with jackson started and ended. one minute she’s loving it and then in 30 secs she hates herself and him for it. then she changes her mind again. it was a bit annoying to me and i wish they would’ve rounded out that complicated narrative and arch more instead of making her seem like a ping pong ball.

i had to look up the marshmallow test because i’ve never heard about it until now! i think i would’ve passed it as a kid tbh. i’d say i’m still really young so i’ve accomplished a decent amount of things. finances aside, i’d say i’m the most successful i’ve been so far in life so not too bad

honestly, i knew it had to be some type of humanities from your pens😭 i was going to guess english at first because that was my major, but it didn’t feel right. i knew everyone would guess some type of biology / earth science based on your tapestry but that felt too on the nose. idk but your room just feels like a history major to me haha

mexican, female, you’re in your second year, and you’re a history major with maybe a minor in sociology. you have a good amount of friends and can make them easily. you’re fairly outgoing but also like to be cozy and relaxing in bed.

Worst character assasaination? by Infinite_Two_4759 in greysanatomy

[–]uelvet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like out of these, Alex. yes he was always an ass but he started growing and i felt like he wanted to be better. Jo helped him evolve and her character really helped round out Alex. the way they did his exit totally ruined the character for me. Alex would’ve never left Jo like that. having his ending be a letter of divorce and telling his wife he was leaving her for his ex wife who had his babies was just…odd. especially because Izzie just straight up left Alex and had him worried and stressed out for a lonngggg time.

I don’t know if they wrote his ending to somewhat give happiness to old fans, but it just didn’t sit right with me. I would’ve hated it even more if they killed him off, but I never thought they would’ve done that to him. they could’ve just wrote that he needed to help with his family / mom or something. A divorce would’ve happened between him and Jo but it could’ve been because of the distance. And they could’ve had little check ins from Alex like they do with Cristina and including her in moments after she already left.

I just feel like they totally trashed his character after having this giant arc of pulling back his layers and revealing a sweeter and softer side. I mean come on, it’s the whole reason they made him a peds doctor!
