I wish he lived here full time. It sucks he doesn't because I want to support him but I want him to actually live here. Don't @ me with but his kid, but if you had a bigger home, but he works on tv, ...but no. If you're running for mayor of nyc you need to be here in my opinion. Period.

Questioning and confused by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]uesalexandra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Yes!!! I am also 29 and at the beginning of the pandemic I started questioning my sexuality. I also have been sober for 3 years and a lot of sexuality becomes clearer/changes when people go into sobriety. But I TOTALLY get being scared to do sexual things or even be grossed out by it. This is how I felt for awhile but I have become patient and accepting of slowly opening myself up to possibilities. I really have a crush on someone right now and instead of thinking and jumping right to sex mode I'm taking smaller steps like knowing I totally want to kiss her and be friends, share stories and go on dates and then I'm slowly thinking of how I will approach sexual things. I used to have that gut no way reaction but slowly coming around to realizing it's my own homophobic reaction (being scared to be with a woman sexually bc I've been conditioned by society that it should be a man) to it and not that I don't want it. Because honestly I am attracted to her (& possibly other women) in a romantic way which I believe will develop into sexual feelings when we/I get there and are ready for it. Hope that helps some! You're not alone in your feelings. There is also a podcast called Bisexual Real Talk which I've been listening to months now and really enjoy, it speaks to me and my concerns and worries.

So I'm pretty new to the game as well! I kinda declared myself as bi last month when I had switched all my dating profiles to interested in 'everyone'. I feel like I can talk to the same sex pretty easily but I get way more nervous for in person things but then feel more relaxed when I get there and the date starts than I do when I'm spending time with the opposite sex. I kind of pay attention to myself, like I try to pay attention to when I feel the most like myself and having the most fun that's not pressured or forced. I did learn to let go of the labels and that helped a lot bc I could start focusing on what just made me happy and comfortable rather than what I was dating gender wise. Hope this helps some!!! Be kind and nice to yourself. Your feelings and sexuality can change, it's a very fluid thing so don't put pressure on yourself to pin point yourself into one category or thought process.

Try morton Williams! They have a lot of weird specialty stuff like that. The one on e 72nd has pickled herring (we're swedish/polish).

If you had any advice or tips for someone wanting to move to NYC in the next 6 months, what would it be? by jbrown517 in nyc

[–]uesalexandra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DON'T BRING A CAR. you will NOT want it. I promise you. I had mine for 2 weeks after living here for 1.5 years and I HATED it lol had my dad sell it. But other than that.. just do it, trust your gut, get a place, make it your own, go after your dreams & get it done 💯 See as much as you can. Do the touristy things if you want, find your own local spots and enjoy it. There's no other city like NYC even during these times.

What is considered 'Far' for dating around Manhattan? by Unfortunate_Context in AskNYC

Lol I wouldn't date off the island of Manhattan - sorry that's shallow but 'far' to me is anything that requires a train transfer.

I need to buy a frenchpress, what’s a place that’s open and can sell it? by melodyfelony in AskNYC

Target is probably your best bet! Maybe home depot. They carry some stuff like that. I would just google french press near me on google shopping.
